What a great video, I've never used a baitcaster before and just bought this reel, I've seen a rmfew video's saying the brakes could be better upgraded but I must say I went out for a few casts today and whether is beginners luck but didn't get any birds nests. I'm using 12lb braid until I feel I can downsize and had a 5 gram jighead on. I try lighter lures next time but I'm very happy with my purchase after thinking I'd waisted my money.

Bought half a year dark wolf H (7.1:1) but I can't fishing without drag sound. Now this Ultra generation has drag sound, lighter body and spool, cool charcoal color. But the retrieve speed KF-50 per handle 55 cm (according Tsurinoya advertisment) while dark wolf DF-50H 63 cm, probably due compact size. My main trout fishing is upstream. So retrieve speed is the main reason to buy or not this reel

Regarding the magnet arm pivoting points; I have a Black Knight 2 left handed model and in my testing with an identical rod, lure and line it gives exactly the same casting distance as the accurately measured distance in Bass'n Bonzai's test. So it may be that even if they are reversed, the magnet pivot point does not actually effect the performance.

Yes makes alot difference. Roro bearings got them for that reel. Sets performance like night and day.

The question is do they reverse the magnet arm pivot points for the lefty model, like Shimano FTB? I don't think any of the CDM reels have done this to date.

I saw on aliexpress that people said the left hand reels still have the right handed brake system. It’s not reversed

Dark Wolf 1 left model has different magnet pivot points compared to my Aldebaran bfs left model. It seems DW Ultra still has this issue. Lefty model users should be aware. I don't use my DW1 that often but I had to modify the brake to make it a bit stronger ( no more dynamic but making it static ).

Unsure, but does it make a difference? magnetic current isnt uni directional is it? I think the problem with the 1st gen Black knight was it had a bigger spool but used the same diameter brake hub as the smaller spool GH100. So the gap between the spool and magnets was wider. I could be wrong though on the rh/lh thing. Maybe someone will buy one of each and test it for us

Hi, I just bought Dark Wolf and somehow winding the handle to get into gear is very clunky and need a bit of grunt. Same with opening the side plate, I gotta put some decent effort. Is it normal? Or possibly there's a defect in mine?

I bought this reel about a week after the dark knight 2 and like it a lot better. I have taken it trout fishing a few times using trout magnets and it seems to throw them good even on my 1-5 gram telescopic rod. My thumb bar has developed a little rattle to it though

@@THEREELTEST the heaviest I went was adding a float to the trout magnet, so a total of 1.8 grams I think and it handled it well. I have been using my Lingl for anything over two grams and my rods are telescopic (easier to carry on a wheelchair) so I am sure with a better rod it will fish better, I am getting around 35' without the float and maybe 60' with on my 5' 1-5 gram rod. I can say I really like the dark wolf ultra but it has developed a little rattle in the thumb bar after the last trip.

I never had the original Dark Wolf but Its basically what the Black Knight 2 is to the original Black Knight. Smaller, lighter, a much smaller and lighter spool

Check out Piscifun's Alloy M. I bet it would BFS pretty well if you only spooled it with 100 yds of 10-lbs braid to minimize overall spool weight.

Theres been a few out for years now, check out the Haibo Mirage, The Haibo Smart, Kingdom Speedshot. Stay away from the Haibo Steed though, the magnets are way too weak

When I changed the knobs of my BK2 to the Gomexus ones, I found that the bearings is missing. In place was plastic bushings. I now have put in the Gomexus bearings. So my BK2 now has 13 bearings... 😂😂😂😂

Chinesium reels particularly Sougayilang, never have the correct bearing count. Piscifun, KK, TSU, and several others are honest and first class.
