I am using this excellent lens with an "helicoid adapter" on my FF and APS-C SONY cameras, handheld mostly wide open with f/2,8 with excellent macro results!

it is a good workaround. But I think there are other m42 adapters that fixed the Mount plate with 3 axial screws and will only allow 3 possible positions. Yours is better for this case. I still think, ttartisans fucked up and made a bad Mount. it should be as Centered as other vintage m42 lenses were and at least try to be close to the standard of m42. Not this I for myself also wanted to use the lens on my old film cameras and was deeply disappointed. Tried 2, both were on different positions, at 180° and 270°. Luckily for me, I just found a decent trioplan for the same price and will shoot this one now with proper m42 Mount.

THanks. I didn't know that was possible with some adapters

is it possible to unscrew the front of the lens containing the 3 elements like it was possible on many versions of the Trioplan 100/2.8? If yes, that means it's a lens easy to adapt to medium format SLR style cameras with a simple helicoid!

No, it isn't. That would be very nice, but it doesn't work.

Hello, such amazing lens, thanks for sharing. I have a question: I bought this lens to my nikon D7500 camera but the adapter (M42-FX) but it does not fit on it. ¿Do yo know what´s the problem?

Hello and thank you for your comment. You seem to have a DSLR camera with the Nikon F bayonet. I can't tell you if you bought the right adapter because you didn't write the name. It will be an adapter that includes a lens so you can focus to infinity. Maybe you bought an adapter for a Nikon mirrorless camera, this one doesn't have a lens but doesn't fit the bayonet of a Nikon DSLR.... If you have another question, feel free to ask 😃.

Looks like FX is Fujifilm X mount. You need m42 - Nikon F mount.

Can you simply leave the lens securely screwed into the adapter, loosen the set screws and then rotate the lens to the desired position, then tighten the three set screws?

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it should work with the adapter shown here. I also wanted to show the structure of the adapter in the video.

@@apertureonepointfour What is the make/model of the adapter? I have one that I'm unable to remove the set screws. Thanks. I see you show 2 different brands ( Fotga/K&F). Which do you recommend for the procedure?
@apertureonepointfour

The adapter I recommend is made by Fotga, M42 to Sony E Mount. Greetings Stefan

It seems to me it is better to loosen one screw out of three, turn the lens to the correct position and fix it. By unscrewing the three screws, you can shift the optical axis of the lens.

Why so complicated? Just loosen the screws ;)

Thanks for your comment 😀 The answer to that is quite simple: some viewers prefer a little more detail, while others are satisfied with your four words. So everyone can find what they are looking for on the Internet.

Sloppy machining and assembly. If you do as above, then your other M42 lenses will be clocked wrong. I have had two of these TT Art 100mm lenses and the first one, the top was on the bottom, IE 180 degrees out. The 2nd lens was on the side, so 90 degrees out. You would think if their machining was off, at least it would be consistently off.

Thanks for your comment and sharing your experience with two of these lenses. I use a separate M42 to E mount adapter for this lens and another adapter or two for my other M42 lenses.
@mizmo7223
@mizmo7223 4 ай бұрын
@@apertureonepointfourI was also considering that. But what I cant understand is how two of these lenses were clocked completely different. If they are off by design, you would think they would all be off by the same amount.
