Thanks Kyle. I like macro and was thinking about getting extension tubes for my a6000 kit lens but at this price I think this lens is a better option for me to start with.

@@kyletaggart No, man....thank you! Thanks to your channel I'm now zoomed in to the TT Artisan brand. Currently I have the Sony a6300 and I already see some good ones I've put on my 'to-buy' list 😁

Hi, Kyle great video as always! I just bought a6400 around 2 months ago specifically for toy and a bit of casual photography. I've been using Kit lens and wanted to upgrade it to prime lenses. Should I go for the 7artisan 60mm (to take a more detail photos of my figures) or should I go with a more generic and versatile lens like the 35mm Sony OSS or the 50mm Sony? Thanks in advance!
@kyletaggart2 жыл бұрын
If you want up close but also generic use, you can check out the Sony 30mm macro, and use auto focus for regular shots Ans manual focus for up close. If it’s a lot cheaper the 7 artisans 60mm version II is nice (o have videos on both versions). If you’re looking for something with a lot more depth of field / bokeh the Sony 50mm f1.8 would be ideal. Any of these lenses are great, it’s just a matter of what you’d use it for. If you have a smaller space, the Sony 35mm f1.8 would be better than the Sony 50mm.

hi kyle I just bought a tartisan 40mm f2.8 similar to yours, but it doesn't work it says "release w/o lens" it doesn't have metal for the e mount the gold, only red dot is on the lens can you help me how to do it is it fine or does it need a mouth extension?
@kyletaggart Жыл бұрын
So if you have the lens connected and try and take a photo and see the error “Release w/o Lens” in the menu to “Enable”. To fix that, hit the Menu button, Page 2 (gear symbol), then go to Page 3 and the setting “Release w/o Lens” should be set to Enable. Then you should be able to take photos 😊

I suposse that it is better to have a macro objetive than a macro extension tube, or do they have similar quality? I have the super sony A6000 :)
@kyletaggart3 жыл бұрын
Extension tube gets the job done, but I think for versatility I’d rather have a dedicated lens - but this lens can do both normal shots and macro.

This 40mm on a6000 = 60 2.8 very nice portret lens)

Hi Kyle, what would you say is the best macrons for the A6000? I've been playing with extension tubes and would like a dedicated lens next. I was looking at the Sony 90mm but the price is scary.

That’s a full frame lens, I’d definitely recommend some of the ones I have reviewed. I’m adding the other video links to the description now. I personally like the 7Artisans 60mm f2.8 II - but the this is TTArtisan one in this video is a great beginner one at this price.

Hi there. I am looking for a cheap macro to scan my 35mm negatives. As these will be back lit do you think internal reflections will be an issue or would this only be caused by direct sunlight. On a tight budget and have been looking at vintage options but not sure what be best. I am a Fuji x user but have no problem in adapting vintage lenses.

An easy question for someone who has used both: TTArtisan 40mm macro or 7Artisans 60mm macro
@kyletaggart Жыл бұрын
I love the quirkiness of the 40mm, however I would say the 60mm mark II is the better overall option - if you’re goal is to get as zoomed in as you can. The 40mm is more useful for regular and macro, but if you just want better macro, grab the 60mm mark II.
@gamadrid Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your prompt response, I had heard that the 40mm is better optically, but I'm not sure if they compare it to the 60mm Mark I and not the new version. Anyway I think that the difference is not perceptible and the 60mm is more useful if I only want to do macro. Watching your videos from El Salvador. 🇸🇻

Is it better than Sony 30mm?
@kyletaggart3 жыл бұрын
I’m unsure…might be close to it, but obviously the bug different is no auto focus, and this lens is slightly faster.
