Depends on the use case! Plenty of 1.4, 1.8 lenses. Sigma makes plenty of 1.4 lenses, 16mm, 30mm, 56mm. Or Viltrox, 23mm, 33mm, 56mm.

I don't think you can put an ND filter on the end of thee lens, however you can get ND filters for the actual mount side. Check these out as an example amzn.to/3ZUpLqy

@kyletaggart wow I didn't know that. I was shooting in good light and this lens only goes to F11 did you cover that in the video? I'm new to the 3rd party lenses. I do know i need more control over light or just buy a sony 11mm 1.8

@@kbellanger4140 this is a fisheye lens, so it has it's special quirks compared to say a "normal" non fisheye lens. I mentioned briefly in the video f11 shows sunstars on this lens.

A lot of videos of mine are shot in a small space, with the sigma 16mm f1.4.

Haven’t used it myself. I’ve used the 18-300 APSC Tamron lens, and did a video on that.

Faster shutter speed. Don’t be afraid of manual mode. If you’re hesitant, put it in shutter priority. So ISO and aperture are done automatically, but you set the shutter speed to say…1/125th of a second.

Cheers I shall give it a try. I set it to servo and also have eye detection and a AF to track me. But as I step back from the camera it blurs. If I stay close it’s ok.

@ I tried this. Still same issue. Several methods. It seems it can’t track me once the self timer has been started. If I go back to position I pressed the button it is in focus. I feel tracking only works on video mode. Not sure how I can get it to work as a self timer picture and stay in focus.

​@@alanmurphy30Once the timer is engaged the camera doesn't readjust focus. Try closing down your aperture to something more like F5.6 or F8 and try to stay somewhere near the focal plane you have the camera focused to. The truly easiest way to do this is with a remote trigger so you don't have to run up to the camera to trigger the shutter and then run back to where you want to stand.

Could do with whichever is cheaper. Or if you want something with OSS and have trouble with slower shutter speeds and blue, grab the Sony. If you find yourself shooting a lot at 30mm or 35mm with the sigma 18-50, then I’d say go with the focal length that suits your shooting.

Want to keep it small like the a6000? The a6100 isn’t a big difference, but has a lot of small features of improvement. A more new style / content creator friendly (flip out screen) is the ZV E10 and ZV E10 mark II. Also the discontinued a6400 is a great option as the same style you’re used to but little more rugged body and a lot more features. If you want to step up, into full frame, the Sony a7C or mark II is a great option to get into the full frame world. Or a used Sony a7III would be probably something you could find cheaper.

@kelvinrh123456789 yes they will fit and work! However they will work in APSC mode. They won’t use the entire sensor as the sensor is larger than the opening of the lenses you have. The lenses for a6000 are APSC, not full frame. So compared to FE lenses, they are 1.5 x cropped. Your sigma 30mm, on the Sony a7R III will have an equivalent look to an FE 45mm. If you used an FE 45mm lens on the a6000, the field of view would look like a 30mm. People use APSC lenses on full frame cameras all the time, just keep in mind they will be a little more “zoomed in”, when compared against FE lenses on the full frame sensor.

Are you sure you didn't mistaken it with sony without oss? I'm following the prices and this sony lens was always more expensive than the sigma.

Not sure what you’re unhappy with. If you only have the kit lens, there’s a lot of lenses that will unleash the power of the little camera. If you need more reach I’d grab a used Sony 55-210mm, cheap and opens up a lot of new compositions and scenarios. The Tamron 18-300 is a great all around lens as well, but it’s a bit chonkier.

The a6000 only films in 1080p lol. It’s close, it’s not night and day with these lenses in terms of sharpness. I’d base my decision on purchase for whichever suits your budget better, and if you want OSS or not.

Yes and yes! There are better lenses for sports, but this is a nice starter lens for sports for the Sony a6k camera lineup.

Yes! For being as old as it is, it will still do a good job. 12 shots per second on burst. There are a lot better cameras for burst shooting, as the a6000 doesn’t have 30fps, or the buffer of more expensive cameras. Shooting fast objects just takes practice, and then you can use burst shooting to help you grab the moment you want. Patience, practice, then add in the tech aspect. Understand the best way to hold the camera for stability, learn through trial and error the best shutter speed for the speed the motorcycles are traveling, and then decide if you need to use the fastest burst setting, or middle, or even slow or single shot. Play around with slow shutter to get blurry cycles in the shot even! Edit: if you shoot RAW, and use high speed burst. The buffer of the camera will fill up after a certain amount of shots. Only so much internal buffer/memory for so many shots. JPEG, you’ll get more shots continuously, but less data to play with in the editing process. Just some things to consider.

It’s a smaller filter size. So depends if you can find a filter that fits it. 49mm filter thread.
