Yes. Manual should be the default... For example, on car games, the better players don't use any assistance of any kind. On shooting games, you are forbidden to use aim assist (CS GO). Same should be applied when it comes to football games. It's the same thing.

When you put 5min or 10 min, the IA works in the way you and COM scores some goals in a short time. I like put 30min, is much more realistic and fun.

started playing manual after your recommendation. I Must say its hard as hell. I feel like i need to go back and do proper training in everything. But weird enough when you get started you its hard to go back to assisted, even if i get thrashed. BUt i do find it mentally taxing, you actually need to think else you will be losing the ball every 10 seconds. But i must say, the ultimate experience is in playing manual passes and shot..

When I see FIFA youtubers I see kids who want fame and are annoying, they make videos just to show their faces. When I see youtubers who are dedicated to PES like TTB, Spoony Pizzas, Knight MD, among others, I see people who know and feel about football. In conclusion: FIFA is for children; PES is for anyone who wants to enjoy football.

I prefer this kind of realism so far! Playing realistic football, even if you have to stop an attack and you are forced to rebuild from behind. You are in no hurry, just because time is running. I would love a master league with this type of game from you. And even if there are no goals in several games in a row, it is. I like everything so much better than these games with a number of goals, just to provide entertainment. Greetings from germany.

@Tyrique Cross I have been kinda back and forth. But Fifa always pulls me back with the licensing and all the leagues. Especially after my mods failed for some reason. Now however, i have chants, stadiums, scoreboards, entrance, adboard, everything i could want for the game to be better and i'm enjoying the heck out of it. Except for when my keeper decides to box the ball back into the box, instead of just out to safety!!!

@@Munter2001 The option files and patches PES Community produces are INCREDIBLE! I use a patch that is more inclined to the Brazilian audience, it's called PES Marfut. Man, it changes the entire game, it's awesome! But I do miss the better graphics, presentation and little details FIFA has. ML is very stale for some years, it needs to become more "Football Manager".

I'm playing ML with Hull City. I played the first season with auto pass. When I got promoted, I changed to manual pass. Oh boy! It's really another game! One thing I noticed is that the AI also seem to change to manual passing, they start making more mistakes and are less predictable with their plays. I'm enjoying much more now. I have set up 14 min matches, in Superstar.

Hey Ricky, good to see you trying manual. If you're planning starting a ML I recommend going for 25min games and just edit and upload key moments of each game. The only issue you will have with 25min is the quite big amount of fouls conceded by the cpu in almost every game. The average in my ML ranges from 11-15 fouls per game conceded by cpu.

so glad to hear that i am not the only one who doesnt use curlers anymore... i spent hours training with no opponents but the keeper. I am convinced they didnt consider it for manual. either that or its super difficult even with the stats.... but the manual is still the best. the thrill in every pass and shot. at least i now get 5-6 shots on average per game on superstar

Best way to play it, I started playing on manual back in PES 2013, it's closer to the real thing, shooting is real tough, FIFA shooting on manual is tougher but rewarding too I started playing FIFA on manual back in 2010.

Enjoyed manual during 1.07 patch times. I can say it was even easier that playing assisted passing. Managed to master Super Star and even started beating people online. And then Konami released 1.08 and ruined everything. Whether the manual passes became less responsive or players first touch quality noticeably reduced or both, but now I simply can't handle it. Switched back to level 1 for passing and using triggered manual balls time to time to beat the defense.

The problem with manual gameplay is thats it's boring (like 1-0 or 0-0) all the time. And at the end of the day PES is a game and like all other games you play it for fun. personally I would sacrifice super realism if it means more fun. But that's just me

I recently watched a video from @KnightMD which made me switch to manual and I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever play PES not on manual. I've just enjoyed playing the game so much more. It's more realistic, you get more animations and like you've said, you eliminate the ability of the game to dictate what it wants you to do. Manual shooting is extremely difficult, but you score some absolutely amazing goals. In fact I've scored so many bangers on manual that it genuinely makes me scream in excitement. I've also done what you did with Pogba and almost hit the corner flag lol! The hardest thing for me has been finesse shooting on manual because I'm trying to aim too far to the side to hit those top corners and it ends up for a throw in almost (it's very funny to watch though). Absolutely love manual though and it's just made the game so much more interesting for me because everything now that happens is down to my mistakes or my skill and I love trying to overcome my mistakes. Like you also said, it forces you to play really good football and really make sure you think about making a pass before doing it. Love it and love the video! Would definitely watch a master league on manual!

I’ve been playing like this for a few months and it’s definitely challenging but I am enjoying the game much more. I have had to go down from playing top player to professional. However fun it has been, I have been finding the referees worse and worse. I’ve raged a few times today and I just can’t stand it anymore! Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there any way to fix this on the PS4?

Unfortunately i don't think there is a way to fix gameplay issues on ps4 and yes referees are really really bad in this game, probably the worst from the last 5 years.

Yes, the referees are horrible and are one of the main reason when I rage with the game. However id ont think it's something affected by the pass mode. They are as bad when playing with auto pass.

all pes has to do now is give the players some weight to their movement. right now it seems like they are floating around, movements are a bit jarring. oh and step up the lighting/shadows along with character textures. maybe introduce a realtime hair flow sim and boom, you have the best football game ever

The file is good, however opponent puts too much pressure all the time in ML or BAL modes. I was playing in Real Madrid and Celta Vigo dominated us (BAL mode) in possession something like 60/40. Everything except that is quite good, but I'm staying with file that is more balanced in my opinion - New Real Soccer Gaming dt18 by Holland, where playing in BVB we were demolished by Bayern 1-4, but scraped victory against Napoli in UCL playoffs 1-0 first leg. Quite realistic I would say. Nevertheless, JosePedro's file development is worth watching.

I love this game. It's what I've always wanted football gaming to be. PES just took a giant leap. Many (FIFA kids) will hate PES because they don't have the patience to simply build up a play. Game is great but they still have a lot to work on; (1) PES overdid the ball protection. No one is that strong. I'd have 3 players on a tired Bukayo Saka and he would protect the ball, turn around and take a Zidane type shot. Turns me off. (2) 1v1. Keeper is extremely stupid and extremely smart at the same time. Pressing the keeper rush button would do more harm than good as the goalie would leave the direction of the ball and go buy toiletries. Same keeper would later catch an outside shot whilst laying on his back 😂. (3) Too much jerking. I often have to ask the players are you going or not? (4) Set piece is a mess. Played over 200 matches. Me and AI never scored from a corner kick. BUT AI scores an average of 3 free kicks per match 😂😂😂. (4) Wassup with Arsenal ?? Are konami creators Arsenal fans? They're like prime Barcelona. Aubameyang has a routine. Receive ball, protect ball, turn and shoot. Every game WTH. Pepe is like prime Messi. Ceballos keeps laying over the ball when I intercept. Gendouzi channels his inner Xabi Alonso. Some other little things need fixing too lol. I like the game though. Better than all FIFA franchise.

Like you I’ve been trying manual for the last month and had good days and many, many more bad days 🤬. I’m on PS4 too so I don’t have the luxury of gameplay mods etc. You are exactly right though regarding how rewarding it is when you play well but boy oh boy when it all goes south it is very frustrating. Checkout Terry F. Gaming’s channel. He does ML manual and his Racing Santander ML has been really great to watch. He sprays the ball around at times that I couldn’t even do on pass support 1!

I find the game is less responsive with manual passing, its slow and stupid things happen like ball passing players who are not reacting, the game is dumbed down but yeah its not on rails. We only want a game that works, it was good in data pack 4 but then it became crap fest..

There's a manager pack that gives 130 manager's. You will probably need to add it to your patch as an add on. Man u and Liverpool manager's are in it. It's on evoweb
