Someone needs to give the audio techies the gold medals for this one.... because this band's sound is mixed perfectly. Seriously, this may be the best live tone I've ever heard

As a guitar player, Derek is simply untouchable. His tone, his feel and overall genius is mind-blowing. Susan has an incredible voice. Period. and that band is SMOKING. so glad I could see them this year, cant wait to see them again. You will no witness a show of this magnitude anywhere else, I can promise that.

Truth. I'm convinced I can get to or as close to a tone as possible for any guitarist except Derek, Mark Speer of Khruangbin, and Trey Anastasio. It's everything and all things about how they play that gives their signature tone more than any gear could.

You could listen to the same song 10 times and hear it so differently depending on who you focus on. I've only recently discovered them and I know the lineup has changed over the years, but they are just fantastic! I really miss live music and have been searching it out on KZbin lately and have NOT been disappointed. So much energy, spirit, talent & soul makes its living out on the road. I can not express all the emotions I have, let's just say I am crying. Returned from Viet Nam in 1969, bought an old Harley Sportster, and took off to see the country. In Gainesville, I went to a concert, and there was the Allman Brothers. You must understand, at that time they were not famous and the atmosphere was very casual. I met the band, because they liked my jacket. Helped load their stuff, and possibly touched this guitar, Duane's guitar.

Every time I hear anything from this band, two words come to mind. You know, other than "Damn, these guys are phenomenal!" Those words are "Joy" and "Love." From their songwriting, Susan's otherworldly voice (and underrated guitar skills), Derek's superhuman guitar skills (and was that really Duane's old Les Paul he's playing?) and on down the line. They have so much fun playing and it shows. The Joy and love show. The only time (so far) I've seen them live, they closed their main set with this. And it was absolutely magical.
