i was not a believer in squish chancel ground pound chaining. I'm so happy to have been wrong

After reading the description, I am amazed at how hard this was to figure out and put into practice. This is huge for ABC strats.

I don't think even viewing frame by frame allows me to fully appreciate all the minute details. This is insane! And this is not just a good TAS, your programming skills have to be insane too!

Very cool! Really enjoyed reading the description; it makes it clear just how much work went into this. It's interesting that switching to particle swarm optimization made a difference. I wonder whether it would be useful in some other sm64 problems.

Gosh man. That’s awesome. The description really shows how precise this is. TTC is slowly being broken.

Literally never seen a video of the strat in practice, this is hilarious, my reaction was “WHAT THE”

Woah. This is so amazing. When understand a 15 second video requires 10 minutes of description reading, you know that people have reached a whole new dimension of complexity. Ubelieveable, how far the A-crew has come.

Seriously, I hope bad_boot does explainers for this and the eventual 0XBitFS TAS. Squish cancel ground pound chains and NUT spots. Parallel universes ain't shit no more
@Tesl8n3 жыл бұрын
Okay, sometimes these strats are mostly technically impressive, but are really hard to see visually as a casual viewer, but this one? This one is both very technically impressive, both in terms of the fact you could pull it off and in how you found it in the first place, but also it just looks cool. Excellent work :o

This is amazing, I know the idea's been in people's minds for a while but seeing it in practice is just insane! Excellent work! Very impressive for a first listed TAS video too :O Love the space-related pfp as well :P

That description is a doozy and a half, but one only need read a few sentences to know you're a mad genius

Awesome video and description. One question though: The 5th paragraph in the description makes it sound like you dismiss squish cancel spots if they are so far apart from each other that you would lose more height than you gain from the ground pound. But wouldn't that mean that solutions where two batches of good sq spots are separated by a gap that's slightly too big wouldn't be found by your bruteforcer?
@Pokechu223 жыл бұрын
I was just about to mention this too. It certainly seems possible that there could be two batches like that, though whether or not a two-batch setup like that would actually be faster is hard to say (and it would make it harder to brute-force as you can't immediately throw away a sequence where mario falls too far, but now that one solution has been found it would be possible to throw away any sequence that does worse than the existing solution)

How does a person react after staying up wayyyyy too late and then watching a Super Mario 64 video that's a little too complicated for their understanding, you may ask? (It's a very strange question, but *maybe* you're asking it.) Well, behold.
