TTC Vlog 45 | First RE Apointment

We had our first RE appointment yesterday to start planning for how we are going to tackle infertility with recurrent miscarriages! It was overwhelming, a lot of information and ideas to get started.

Sounds like it was a very productive appointment. I'm thinking you could have been referring the the MTHFR gene. This is a blood clotting disorder that can leave a person at higher risk for recurrent miscarriage. I didn't have this gene, but one of my close friends does. Oddly enough, she has never had a miscarriage. Go figure. She has 3 healthy boys. So, it is a gene that seems to affect people differently who actually have it. I can understand that feeling of being overwhelmed. It happens to us all once we are seeing an RE. I was okay in my consult. However, when I first got my IVF information packet, and read through it all, I felt very overwhelmed. Once I knew my specific protocol, things just fell into place. So, I know it seems so overwhelming at first, but in no time at all, you will be a RE pro. 😉

Strength Beyond The Storm Thank you love! It may have been the MTHFR, I honestly cannot remember, or find that note in my packet of info. In any case, I'm trying to remember that worrying, and googling, will not change the results! :) I forgot to mention, she did mention that IVF with PGS would be our option if things came back very badly- That might have added to my nerves. I'll make sure to keep you updated with what I hear! XOXO Alyssa
