TTGO T-Display Web Server and Web Client.
First we get to test out the battery port and charging feature. Next we combine three example sketches in the Arduino IDE into a web server that changes the content it displays based on which button is pressed. (All_Free_Fonts_Demo, HelloServer and MultipleButtons). Then we combine two example sketches in the Arduino IDE into a web client that constantly checks our web server and displays the result of which button was pressed on the web server. (All_Free_Fonts_Demo, BasicHttpClient). Both the client and server are connected via WiFi. This is a simple yet effective demonstration of the capabilities of the TTGO T-Display board.

I did this on an esp32 and then embedded my blockchain router into it and I can access it privately anywhere in the world, these little chips are so powerful when it comes to embedded functions. I have loved playing with them for the last few years it takes me back to my old BBS modem serial days. Thanks Shotoku Tech for making these great videos.

Disclaimer: I'm a complete beginner. First of all, thank you for this tutorial! I'm using a LilyGo display with the "Web Client" code installed. I'm running into a strange issue: The LilyGo is plugged into my computer over USB. If Arduino IDE is running when I plug the LilyGo in, everything loads as expected and the LilyGo displays the payload from an external web-server. I can then close the Arduino IDE app, and the LilyGo keeps working as expected, continually refreshing and pulling new data from the web-server if available. However, the LilyGo just shows a blank screen if Arduino IDE is not running as I start up the LilyGo. It will show a blank screen until I start Arduino IDE on my computer. As soon as Arduino IDE is running, the LilyGo starts working. It appears that the LilyGo needs something from Arduino IDE to boot up... is that expected behavior? Shouldn't I be able to just run in completely independently without the need to plug it into a computer every time it boot up the first time? Any help would be greatly appreciated (trying to use it as part of a Christmas present).

update: I figured out what the problem is.... If you disable "USB CDC On Boot", everything works as expected. If it is "enabled", you can't run it without connecting it to the computer first. Is that normal/expected behavior?

I had the TTGO T-display for a few weeks. I got it to do some cool stuff, but wonder if there is more. Is there a way to scroll text (up) like movie credits or (left) like stock quotes? Also, can it receive and display video from the esp32 cam board?

I tried to run TTGOWebServerButtonDemo2.ino but it won't because it can't access/find "#include "Button2.h"". I have looked for it and searched for it to no avail. @@ShotokuTech

Hi Larry. The simplest way to see latest firmware is there is a message about mounting SD card. They added this to the firmware and FactoryTest example in April. Can you tell me if the battery you have can be found on ebay, not from china. I am in the USA and have had many problems getting items from China. Did you have to replace the connector on the battery so that it would fit the connector on the TTGO?

Can the touch sensor wake up the TTGO from deep sleep?

@@ShotokuTech Touch pins.. I got it to wake up from deep sleep, but I don't know enough yet to incorporate it in my other sketches..

I need to add the touch pin as an interrupt, so it will wake up as soon as I touch a pin.
