Was the DM (And perhaps the party too) tired of him going PvP all the time and purposely removed him from the game, and do you think that that was the best way to "deal" with a player that isn't playing well with the rest of the group for whatever reason? He stayed on through many a campaign, usually making the same mistakes and paying harder and harder prices for it. The best way to really "deal" with it is to remove them entirely, but you don't always have extra people to fill in the slot in the meantime, so... just gotta keep squeezing until they get it.
