I've owned my Godox gear for about a year and a half. After this video, I might actually start using the TCM function finally. This is the clearest explaination and demonstration of it that I have found. Thank you, sir!

I knew the function was there, but never tried it. But I can see now, it works. And what an awesome model, the outfit she wears makes her SO trustworthy in that ligh setup. 10 ekstra likes from me, if I could.

Just invested in 2 Godox V860II-N Speedlites and the XPro N Transmitter. Did not know what to do with them until I found this video from a year ago. No flash meter, one 30" umbrella, and just desire, no experience. I'm beginning to think I might already have a studio with that equipment, LOL. Thank you! ⭐x5

Hi Gavin, that’s a fantastic video and the fact this works with high speed sync is especially useful as like you say a light meter doesn’t do it. Always love seeing your videos. I’d love to see some more specific editing videos on how you post process your portrait shots you have such a great painterly look to your final images. Thank you and I hope you and your family are staying safe with everything going on 🙏

Another top tutorial Gavin. I prefer a flash meter because I rarely use TTL in studio but TCM is very useful for event shooting where I use TTL ( with flash compensation ) a lot. As you say, it's another tool to help you do the job 👍

Good demo and beautiful model. Please thank her for me. This demonstration helped me clarify a few things about the TCM button that I wasn't getting by reading the manuals. I guess something was being lost in the Chinese to English conversion. Many thanks for making this video easy to understand. It was a big help. I wish I had found it sooner.

Wow this so informative. I just bought a Canon 250D only to find out ut doesn't have a center pin to trigger my Godox Xpro on manual mode. This information will help me as Im going to use TTL mode with exposure compensation for my portraits photoshoots. Also with the help of high speed sync to reduce overexposure. Thank you very much your videos are si helpful Sir.

I've been using this feature for years now especially when shooting in HSS & i absolutely love it. Really helpful & save a lot of guesswork especially when u need to work fast. My method for outdoor shoot, i ask the model to hold a grey card & set the camera metering to spot meter for a more accurate TTL reading. The shot does'nt need to be in focus, it juz need to fill the frame. Be aware of your own shadow as it might block the light if u shoot it really close or any glare if u shoot towards the sun coz it will disturb the TTL reading. Use lens hood if u have to or use your hand as a shade. Juz sharing. :)

I love Gavin. This video was way better than the fill flash/modifiers video last week in my opinion (no offense intended). This video is better because Gavin doesn't make me feel like a "gear nerd" because I love my gear; and by default would like to use the "somewhat" expensive gear I've earned. Gavin addresses just about everything he has to create the look, and addresses the premise of the video without compromising the company's sales plan. If you tell me I should be more creative at times and less technical I believe you. On the other hand, if you make that your video premise (cheap and creative) and put expensive profoto d2's in your video, when modifiers and cheap speedlights cost way less, I feel a bit confused to say the least. TCM Confused everyone to no end as a strong advocate for Adorama products. Now I can review send more business to Flashpoint well informed.

My Yongnuo radio system does not have this TCM system, but what I usually do is press FE-lock button to keep the TTL metering the same after I got the perfect lightning. One tip is to frame the model's face for TTL metering, so the background will not affect.
@GavinHoey
@GavinHoey 4 жыл бұрын
FE-Lock might work for you (no rights or wrongs in photography). As for tight framing of the face, that's can help but remember not all faces are the same brightness and non models won't appreciate having at camera in their face 😲
