This is the first AoE2 tournament I have followed along with as it happened. It was fantastic!! Felt as though the QFs were actually the best round as the SFs and F lacked the twists and tight results. *SPOILER* Actually think JorDan was the only player who gave Viper a scare and I enjoyed his play. Being quite new to AoE2 he has a new fan in me :-)

Jordan is such a good guy when you hear him speak too. I started really rooting for him in hidden cup 4 when he was coming back from retirement and T90 was dismissing that the guy in front of him could be Jordan because 'Jordan's just not that good". Heck yeah he's that good and he looked like an even match for any of the big names this tournament

Looking forward to whatever is planned next, with how amazing this went whatever follows definitely won't disappoint at all.

Minor Spoiler... . . . . . . Game 3 when the crossbows enter Hera's base. Hera's idle villager time jumps from 16 minutes to 34 minutes, while Viper's only ticks up from 18 to 20. For zero eco deaths that's still a ton of eco damage.

TTL has been great. Thanks for organizing. A nitpick about commentary: What is a "comfort pick"? It shouldn't be hard to be more specific. e.g. "This civilization suits the player's strengths." "This civilization has a straight-forward game plan." "The player is feeling anxious and this civilization's unique charm has always calmed them down since they were a kid."

It's fun to watch Viper's perspective before watching the casts of his games, because during that Mayan game, he was perfectly calm throughout it, never even once felt threatened by that forward castle, and even said it was a mistake for Hera to rush Imp and push with Cavalier and Trebs, but T90 is in such a panic over his position hahaa

Viper will always be the GOAT for his ability to perform in so many different settings / maps, as well as the ability to handle tricky game situations. Obviously he's not as dominant as he used to be, but newer fans should absolutely go back and watch the first three NACs and the first three Hidden Cups. They should go back and watch DM World Cup, Master of Socotra, Clown Cup etc to see the versatility. Lierrey, Hera, are stronger than Viper in a few situations / settings, but for overall performance across all maps there's no comparison.

Hey T90, love your videos. I don't play AOE2 but I really like these games as I used to play as a kid. I really would like to propose an idea. Could it be possible to let every video end at the same time in tournaments? And fill the empty bits with blank space? It really would help people watch these vids on youtube and still covering the end results by the last matches in one video. This because its easy to predict the result from the timeline in te video with the score at that time of the last matches. And this takes away the tension or suprise :) Its just proposal but would be nice to see it. It would make these vids even more awesome!

Hearing the game 3 commentary was hilarious after watching it from viper pov first xD he was so chill the entire game, not even a little bothered and never felt he was behind. I do think he greatly overestimated the idle eco damage he did to hera. By the time hera hit imp viper had a greater idle eco timer (granted, more vills, but still)

I'm really confused as to why Hera quit in match 3. I'm a novice but he had 4 trebs and had just taken down the castle? He could have packed up the trebs and got them away, couldn't he? The match looked so tight and I assumed he was winning as he had trebs and Viper didn't. I know I'm wrong because these guys know best, but to me, it's mega confusing. If someone could explain (IF POSSIBLE) would appreciate it as am trying hard to follow what is going on.
@helderboymh Жыл бұрын
Viper was gonna last long enough that the gold he is going to get extra would be to much. Hera had zero gold Income, was gonna lose those trebs and and has no hand cannons. He needs trebs to push castles but also needs hand canons to kill the Eagles and pike. Without hand canons Hera army just doesn't stand a chance, it's all cavalry. Also we don't see everything for example in the last 3 min Hera lost over 30 eco. It's might seem early but he called gg right at the moment that he basically had no chance of winning, when he lost his trebs. Without those he can't stop vipers trebs meaning that the castles that are the only thing left that can defend his eco, will go down eventually.
