@@emmata98 The catch is that based on the stats youtube shows me, a *significant* amount of new viewers to the channel click out in the first 30 seconds, probably thinking that the whole video is a history lesson. On the couple of vids I've done so far that jump right to the in-game stats, that trend was almost eliminated and first-time viewers on the channel stayed much longer. I need to let more time pass before drawing any final conclusions though.

I know people have relatively negative opinion on bringing one-off prototype or experimental aircraft definitely not intended for serial production into the game, but I reaaaallly, really want to see Tu-12 in game.

Ive been begging for the B-45 for years! The US needs a low tier jet bomber to compete against the Arado. I cant think of a single reqson *not* to add it. ​@TimsVariety

@@TheTexanKiwi If only there's an objective-centric game mode where people can join in indefinitely (as long as you can pay for the repair cost) to perform missions for your team, including bombing targets relevant to the overall battle, which allow bombers and attacker to be the center stage of air battle, while fighters perform the role of covering friendly air strike and preventing enemy from doing the same. If only they made such game mode available not only to the sim-battle, but to air RB as well. Imagine the potential.

These days there are so many prototypes in the game, most people know that it’s pointless to have a negative opinion against them, as long as they’re not OP. Many of the vehicles in my personal wishlist are prototypes as well.

One of my favorite thing to do with jets like these is to use the boosters runaway its funny to see jet fighters try to catch up when you go into maximum overdrive.

Hey Tim, I think i figured why viewer retention might be very inferior when putting History before gameplay. I thought people that aren't interested in the history could just skip to the part they're interested in using the timestamps, but i think that when they see the timestamps' names, some of them might think that they're exclusively about the real life thing and only illustrated with WT. I don't know if i'm making sense here, but what i mean is that those who stop watching because of history first is because they immediately think it's not an actual WT review. I might be stating the obvious here, but i just wanted to help Great review as always btw

That also crossed my mind recently. I'm planning a couple of vids after the WT alpha strike update where I re-label the chapters and the on-screen table of contents at the start to add "in-game" to the other chapters. Intro & Real-World History In-Game Weapons & Systems In-Game Flight Performance so on and so on, and see if it makes any difference

I fully recommend a look at the B-57B. Got 20mm cannons as an upgrade option over the 8 M3 .50s and has a great cas setup/lineup. Not to mention it looks sexy with the tandem cockpit!

2:55 I guess calling it a light bomber slipped your review here. 8:40 The air brake and drag chute make it very easy to land compared to the IL-28s. My rating IL-28Sh > Tu-14 > IL-28, as the Shturmovik Badger allows you to take down two bases.

I hope that the statistics work out that you can keep the history first. I personally feel that it's far better for flow and keeping my interest, as I find the history pulls me in to the video, then it's easier for me to think through the WT stuff regarding meta and tactics. When that stuff is first I find it harder to focus on it and am more inclined to just skip it to get the history, then maybe go back but not always. Obviously you have to do what's best for the channel, but insight into why it works for some people can help you hopefully.

Need more time to pass to generate data before drawing any final conclusions, but *so far* jumping right to the in-game systems has improved early retention (which is a *critical* metric) very significantly.

I did a vid recently (January) discussing how they could fix the gamemodes to accept coldwar era bombers like the Tu-16 or B-47. I doubt it will ever happen, but I send the snail my feedback anyway....

It always makes me smile with curiosity when I get an occasional comment suggesting that the review wasn't in depth, as everyone else usually says I produce the most in-depth warthunder reviews available. Everyone looks for something slightly different, I suppose. :-) But yes, I really enjoy covering stuff that isn't just "push the AoA turn-and-burn dogfight meta". Planes like the Tu-14 get no love, so I at least try to offer a little pat on the head ;-)

For me, in-depth is looking at different scenarios. 1v1 with a most direct counter, most direct similar counterpart, and most direct “food” for the plane you are flying. It’s looking at when exactly should you be using flaps, how far are the guns supposed to be led and looks at which range they are effective at. I wrote the comment about half way and you answered some questions I had such as which bomb loads fully destroy a base which is my fault on that end. Just food for thought. As always, appreciate the less meta planes especially since I didn’t buy this thinking it’s a 1-1 copy of the il-28, but the airbrake actually may make it decent at overshooting and reversing me262s.

B-57 is much faster and more agile

@@Янус_Ырт I can undesrtand the B being 8.3, but the A is just so sad, mediocre bomb load, speed is OK for the BR, it has zero guns, both offensive and defensive, and should be moved down to 8.0 in my personal opinion

If you are thinking of getting this plane, I wouldn’t recommend it. The IL-28 is basically this aircraft but better.

I dont play bombers too much but I would like to know how do you make your gunners to fire by themselves at realistic battles? Do you need to target or do they fire at the closest enemy? Any changing view secret to make them starting to fire? At what distance from the target do they do it?

The TLDR - they fire on their own anytime someone is in range and inside their field of fire. Bomber gun turret auto-behavior was SERIOUSLY nerfed a while back, and they now only automatically fire if a target is VERY close, like 300 meters or less.

i dont know if they sad anything on why so many planes and helicopter dont have a prober 3d cockpit and i would love to have a game mode where we could use torpedoes in all my battles i only take bombs and rockets not even in naval battles i take a torps

Yeah they have commented, properly modelling a complex cockpit is almost as much work as making a whole new plane so they've decided not to.

Even though they are trash missiles they are still choochin. Mach 1.7 if i remember correctly. So probably pretty hard.

In game ive always thought of this as just a worse IL-28. Expecially worse than the IL-28sh. Even though it isnt a dogfighter i love surprising people with the dual 23mm gun pods.
