TU Delft and Airbus test smart tyre system in Chateauroux

A team from the faculty of Aerospace Engineering TU Delft flew to the Airbus testing facility at Chateauroux, France, to test a Smart Tyre system. The system can determine the level of wear on aircraft tyres, whilst detecting anomalies and predicting tyre failure. This system will help enable aircraft like the A350 1000 to operate at higher weights. TU Delft and Airbus work together, e.g. in the Airbus Global University Partnership Programme.
