The techniques aren't bad at all and would be effective but the "grab the leg" idea isn't quit as easy as it looks and for real expect to get clobbered by the kick and not actually catch it. But if you get good and skilled at that part the rest of it should work well. I've been hit by a good amount of kicks from dojo to cage to street and I'd say the "catch the kick" idea is a bit not realistic for the average viewer.

Yes stopping a power kick ?, the demo kick just falls short, therefore easy to ‘catch’...

Why are we seeing only roundhouse kicks? What about front thrust kick and side kick?

The same thing applies, thats why. It's up to you to take the technique and make it your own.

Some fighters have so strong kicks (to the head) that what we see in this video would be a recipe for the recipient's demise.

@reyduque11573 жыл бұрын
No need to take down your opponent in such a situation. You easily disable or destroy him with a strong front kick to the balls or even to his knee.

@@stefanschleps8758 Oh! Right! Ancient Chinese wisdom-kick the shoulder instead of a head-they'll never see it coming!
Real full power drill first please, then technics to be added on and on and on, then this great kungfu will be great and no comparison for those gifted ones.

You can't block the kick with 1 hand u don't know low or high or front kick too much setting up technique like a movie not realistic
@bluehippofilms4 жыл бұрын
It's definitely doable if you've trained properly and apply it in the right situations. For all the it would never work in MMA people. Here's Cung Le doing the same catch movement on UFC Middleweight Champion Frank Shamrock and knocking him down afterwards: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmOcm4eLr5WsgpI . And as a bonus, here's him in the same fight doing a textbook sanda leg catch/sweep takedown. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmOcm4eLr5WsgpI
@gregbignose36314 жыл бұрын
You CAN block even a very powerful kick with ONE hand {or to be more exact, forearm} if your limbs have been conditioned properly. Yoy can even cripple your opponent or make him limp for a long time
@stefanschleps87583 жыл бұрын
Thats funny, I've done the same technique a dozen times. If your lazy, and undisciplined, nothing will work. Don't you know the definition of kung-fu is long practice and hard work ?! You don't know what your talking about. Best for you to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. stfu
