Now that [Tub] is reasonably active again we're happy to present a small fun project we worked on for a couple days. 5-Man Vale Guardian. A fan favourite boss which I personally love lowmanning.
The strat was to do the classic VG mid-strat for phases 1 and 2, then stay middle for the start of phase 3, then move out of middle before the central seeker respawned. This saved quite a bit of time we would otherwise have had to spend moving or controlling the seekers. For the split phases, everyone got the red buff and moved to blue guardian, with the druid grabbing green. By pulling all 3 guardians together it allowed the group to cleave and CC down all 3 guardians at the same time.
To explain the composition in detail:
Power Soulbeast - The damage core of the group. With Vale Guardian taking 36% more power damage than condition damage it made little sense to bring more than the minimum amount of condition builds required. With the insane burst of power soulbeast which is available every phase, and the built in dodge on sword 3 for blues, this class was a sure shot for a spot in the comp.
Hybrid Soulbeast - Originally we tried with another power soulbeast, however the red guardian took too long to die in the split phases causing our kill times to be much longer than we wanted. To alleviate this, instead of swapping our quick support to a condition class, we opted to take a hybrid soulbeast instead of a power soulbeast. This was because it brought the right amount of condition damage needed, and could still deal respectable burst dps on the boss by taking advantage of the lower armour of Vale Guardian.
Condition Virtuoso - Essential for both condition damage, cleave in the split phase, and seeker control in the final phase. With it also having respectable power and burst damage it made this class essential for the fight.
Power Quickness Herald - With the bonuses from Unsuspecting Strikes and Swift Termination, power quickness herald puts out an extremely respectable amount of damage in both phases 1 and 3, only being weaker in phase 2 due to not having either buff active at the start of the phase. The split phase strategy also makes this class essential with the ability to use Surge of the Mists on all 3 guardians to finish the phase quickly.
Heal Alacrity Druid - The best tank for Vale Guardian hands down. With access to burst healing, seeker control, evades with sword 3, blocks for denying blue spawns, range to grab the green guardian, and AoE CC for ending the split phase quickly, little more needs saying about the reason as to why this class was chosen.
I'd like to thank CasualElitist for helping with the initial comp testing and not killing us with the seekers.
