You do good plumbing work. I always like to knock the 2 x 4 box out of the way before I install my trap. It gives a little more room to work with. The radon police made me fill one of those trap boxes in with concrete on a basement tub before they would sign off inspection when I sold the house. They of course required the radon pump in the sump pit too.

Also for termites I would think the blocking needs to go.

Been wanting to put in a curbless or nearly curbless walk-in shower in our master bath when we build, but I think the master suite is gonna have to go on the second floor. Designing the slab for that would be a royal pain, but having a few of the truss-joists built with a 2in drop would be a lot easier. Downstairs can get the more economical option. I don't mind saving a few bucks. :)
