Dec. 2011. Yes, this is another re-post, and the video seems to be playing correctly now, using an alternative uploader. My apologies for losing everybody's comments. This turned into a 3-day job!

This is what happens in real life to diy projects! I usually end up going back to the store at least 5 time and always late before they close! Thanks for keeping it real!

Love the “realness” of the video. Everybody else is so fancy and a lot of them are working on brand new homes. This video shows the real deal 👍

Mercy, I was needing to watch videos to learn how to my tub, but do it right. Not so much for me but for the people/ family that will be living in the home needing the one and only tub in my home.... isn't that how we are suppose to be thinking.. I think you are thinking that way. Your roofing nails and the application on top of plywood should hold up for many many years. I have no experience in this to know, let's hope so. Thanks for the video

Congrats for showing real people how to be resourceful with real projects! And with your new tub walls installed, you can actually take that much needed bath..says your nextdoor neighbor😂

I'm going to be doing this to a 1971 mobile home. It's actually in good shape except for the tub/shower area. I plan on gutting it down to the studs.

Thank you. This is similar to my situation. I’ll probably install the mold resistant drywall instead of plywood like you did.

Man, I love yer DIY vid style. Look up the word "Unpretentious" in Webster's and you're gonna find a link to this awesome video. "...It says, Do not apply to plywood. Well guess what? It's gettin applied to Plywood!" -- -- Classic! Sounds exactly like 9/10 DIY'ers at some point in their project. LMAO

Thanks for the entertaining video. Sorry about your tub. Maybe your next project could be a tub refinish. BTW, there is a way to make perfect caulking seams. Simply mask off on either side of the future bead, then fill in between the masking tape with caulk. Run your finger over the caulk, pressing down so there is little to no caulk left on the tape, then peel the tape up.
@MichaelBorne-rh8co5 жыл бұрын
Should I also caulk/silicone where tub meets luann? Before gluing up my 3 pieces. Thanks! Oh, btw, the faucets are sort of loose, like dangling a lil bit from the removal of bad sheetrock there. Do I need to cut piece of rock or plywood or luann and get them bit more rigid before putting 1/4" luann on the 3 walls? I'm still prepping still for the 3 piece glue on surround coming Tuesday.

Super. I wish you had shown more about the top trim, though. That's one of my stalling points. Maybe you address that on your channel. I really like your videos. I relate to your style. Thanx again, Jeff.

I used a acrylic tub surround and the corner sections pain in the ass to get a flat I put tape on it and everything else it seems that they don't flare those Corners out but they flare in a little bit too much what a pain in the ass

Zero waterproofing, skill, thought put in this at all!Geez just replace that nasty chipped tub it's like $100 and money wasted on luan could have gone towards new tub and actual green board with waterproof tape and mastic, geez this is scary!Do you keep lotion in the basket?
@Jeffnham8 жыл бұрын
+Nathan Steiger This was a old mobile home, and it was good enough for that. Cheap repair. It's better than it was before, and there never was any green board. Chipped the tub accidentally with the hammer. It's a good iron tub, can be re glazed. I don't own this house anymore.
