'Dyin' Blues' is one of many 18-bar tunes (16 + 2-bar tag) from the early jazz repertoire. Other examples are 'My Sweet Lovin' Man', 'It's Right Here For You' and 'I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate'. Erika sings it in the key of C, just as Leola B. Wilson does on the original Blind Blake recording from 1926.
