Tuba Skinny ~ Grandpa’s Spells, J.R. Morton 1923

Last night at DBA we played Grandpa’s Spells by Jelly Roll Morton. Robin was testing out his new washboard from Brazil. It comes from the new brand, Washboard Mississippi. They even put the name of the band on it!

First time I've seen them playing with a string bass instead of tuba. And i didn't even realize there was someone back playing the piano until they took a solo. You all really brought this Jelly Roll Morton song to life.

You are legally required to have a tuba involved in your music at all times. Still, you didn't have the classic double-bass problem of getting washed over in the rest of the mix.
