I find his futuristic approach and the use of fabric amazing! Casey is definitely talented in emphasising body shapes and the architectural approach is clear. But I think he needs to evolve in his storytelling. Just body suits and a diverse cast will not make the brand last.

Kim K at the Met was one of my favorite looks of all time. The wet looks was just so creative and different. It was supposed to have a silicone nipple under it too, but Kanye wouldn't let Kim do it-there's a video of her pissed and crying about feeling conflicted straying from the original version to appease his ego (and look where they are now...)

This video is as timely and smart as Cadwallader's take on Mugler: he stripped down the latter's aggressive, hyper-sexualized aesthetic of the 80s of most of the color and the glitter, and had it sported by post-gender (or openly trans-gender) models. Which is a winning move - and the best one could do with that heritage anyway. As for myself, as someone who was a teenager in the 80s, I still have a hard time coping with that aesthetic... At the time, I was into totally opposite things, like the exquisite (and now completely forgotten) Romeo Gigli. The first fashion KZbinr to make a video on him will get my eternal gratitude.

I think Casey is doing a great job reviving the brand in a crisp and modern way. The theatrical aspect is one of the strongest parts of the Brand‘s DNA. But what I’m missing in his collections is a lack of differentiation between them... it all gives the feeling of one huge collection. Muglers collections always had a theme, Manfred had a clear story to tell. You see an outfit and you could easily tell which collection it is from. The pieces in Cadwallader‘s collections are a bit too repetitive, as already mentioned by a lot of people, and I think he should be more bold in trying out new things, step out of his comfort zone. The Mugler DNA has so many things to offer and the archives are filled with images and worlds to take inspiration from. Yes, he should keep it modern, as he does, but I would like to see something out of the box, unexpected at this point.

i do agree on that. he is turning his designs into too repetitive motives, it was new for Spring 20 and i still really love what he is doing overall, just needs to dare a little more and try to implement his vision also in “normal“ pret a porter.

I think that the new designer is just an different person than Thierry Mugler so it has different style, and he can not be Mugler because all people are themselves. But as for me I just like Thierry more ❤

Personally i'm a bit neutral but more on the positive side in terms of Casey's Mugler. I get that people are bored with the bodysuits but if it's what's gonna revive the brand and give it more exposure and money then im fine with it, ubless it will eventually become overused
