For anyone who was wondering, the world border was closing to seriously reduce lag when the lava rises. Because the world border was so small when the lava started rising, less blocks need to be updated every time the lava rises.

@@mrsquid_ it certainly does achieve that goal, but if you look at all lava rising maps, the world border is always very small. It started big so that Tubbo and Scar had plenty of access to any resources they would need, but reduced in size so that the lava updates wouldn’t crash their computers. The panic that resulted from that design feature was an added bonus.

Yeah, there aren't a lot of flat places to build, but, to me it just encourages more interesting builds, castles on the side of a mountain, a network of little homes and bridges in a huge cave, a house that goes uphill... It's way more fun to me than just flattening the terrain for the hundredth time

1:02:26 pillar up with wood while youre way above lava, then put dirt at the top for 3-4 blocks when it catches on fire at the bottom mixing wood (easy to collect) with a few non-burnable blocks is usually the best tactic
