@jasonesty38805 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of comments balking at the price but I think it fair if you factor in all that you are getting in this unit with the IR integration with direct out, EfX loop, Programable EFX, Tunable Power Soak, MIDI control, built-in 100-watt amp, ect. It's obviously market is pro-musicians and studios. IMO, it needs optional rack ears though.
@poulwinther5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why you need those options in the studio? You're still going into a computer where you can run a (probably better) IR's loader as well as better effects. Going direct live is the only reason I see that a $700 Power Station doesn't offer.

What a great idea this is. One thing it doesn’t have, apparently, and should have is a very high quality noise gate. I’m sure Boss could do as good a job as anyone making a dedicated, intelligent, noise filter / gate for this.

Ola, new subscriber here. Gotta admit, until recently I had never heard of you or any of your bands, although I've been out of touch with the metal scene for a long time. I really like your videos and the work you do. You're very entertaining and informative. Example: I tried to learn to play guitar when I was younger. I knew (and still know) absolutely nothing and could not get the metal sound I wanted and became disinterested. Then life got in the way and i sold what little gear I had. Your video on the boss hm2 pedal has me interested in trying to learn again. You're a cool dude. Keep up the good work. Great videos!

Ola, i purchased one of these when it first came out as have some pretty strong tube amps that this would be awesome with (VHTPittbull, JSX, 5150 first version with EVH letters), and Mesa MV. The Waza Expander is solid state and it made my amps sound almost like solid state and feedback when cranked was not working in synch as it would with amp and 4x12s. That was my experience so I took it back and on the hunt for something that will really keep the tube sound of amp but let me adjust it to listen (able) levels. Just my experience. Always follow your gear and KZbin as you've got the best and onpoint reviews. Thanks for help or recommendations

look into used not-hyped tube amps, depending on where you live you can get absolute beasts of amps for 300 - 400 bucks, something like a bugera tube amp for 200 bucks, buy a HB V30 2*12 and maybe boost amp with a simple overdrive = success. typical often overlooked tube heads you can get for cheap are laneys, crate blue voodoos, some lower-gain engls (probably more so in europe since they cost way more in the US), jet citys, fame, laboga ... quite a few you can have for real cheap, actually. And most of them will give you a very decent sound, if you know what to go for and how to tweak if properly (with pedals f.e)

I play an engl thunder, underrated amp, low gain for an engl, but I got it years ago used for 350 bucks, into a HB v30 loaded cab I picked up used in the building where we rehearse for 50 bucks. Overall 400 bucks (plus a shitload of different distortions and overdrive's). I still kick myself for not picking up a Laney GH100S along the way, the old Tony Iommi sig amp, they can be had for 300 bucks around here, they take both 6L6 and EL34 powertubes, can be completely slaved (I like to play with preamp pedals) and somewhat sound like a JCM800. You really just have to look a bit around to find great great deals, especially locally close because people are lazy and don't want to ship, so they basically throw stuff at you as long as you come and pick it up yourself.
