I know it is best practice to deburr copper pipes, but what do you do when you cut the pipe and itis facing up and deburring in this position would cause burrs to fall into the pipe.

I was thinking maybe shove some cotton into the pipe first then pull it out with tweezers and the burrs will come out.

@@Thejrb11 Tried it and the cotton wool worked nicely, it's quite compact and has a decent spring to it to hold itself in place, I then just took the shop-vac and sucked up the cotton along with the filings.

Very late response. Sorry. Maybe take a piece of cotton ball, twist it length wise and stuff it into the tube just far enough so that it won't come into contact with your deburring tool...don't pack it too tightly. After de-burring, your shavings should sit on top of the cotton, using a leatherupholstery crafters needle or a quilting curved needle or maybe an unwound paper clip, stick that into the copper pipe and slowly snag the cotton and pull it out. Should work. Good luck.

@@rjskum688 Just checked and you're right, they don't sell it anymore...too bad. But just search for "deburring tool" on google and LOTS of links come up. there are also a lot of them on ebay.

@@AffordBindEquipment Ya it wouldve been convenient to go there and buy a couple. It's funny a few minutes before you responded, I bought one off Amazon for 14 bucks. Thanks for responding.
