i wouldn't recommend swapping the power tube type it's the preamp that matters the most, the output transformers was designed for one type so it's not only bias. instead just swap v1 for something good (an old mullard or ge for example) and you will hear a major difference. ive upgraded many amps using vintage tubes i usually don't bother with power tubes at all.
