TubeBuddy For KZbin & Why TubeBuddy SUCKS for Keyword Research...
So why do I say that TubeBuddy for KZbin is horrible?
Now, I'll get into all of that in a bit, but I have to say though that I realize this video will probably create some controversy and that's OK.
There are some big boy KZbinrs who all recommend and suggest TubeBuddy. I mean I get it...
People want to make affiliate commissions and on the surface, a tool like the TubeBuddy extension sounds epic.
It's free (to an extent)
It automates a tonne of stuff (which is SUPER dangerous and I'll cover that as well)
It does keyword research (which for the most part will be the topic of this video)
And so on...
I don't really care as much for the "and so on" part as there are a few features that do save time etc.
But as I mentioned before, the topic of this video is TubeBuddy Keyword Research for KZbin.
Now while TubeBuddy has a keyword rank tracker, it has famously been hit and miss... and so, when I approached TubeBuddy about this problem, they arrogantly just told me that they are right and I am wrong.
While this is not a complete TubeBuddy overview, I do touch on the important stuff. The pitfalls if you will.
You might be wondering "Is TubeBuddy Good"? and so let me tell you that yes, there are some good aspects of TubeBuddy, but the main stuff is pretty crappy.
In the video, I show you exactly why I say that TubeBuddy's keyword research module is one of the worst ones out there.
The views discrepancy differs by THOUSANDS of percentages. And that is a big deal.
I'll show you my personal account in the video, but let me give you a quick example of just how bad TubeBuddy for KZbin keyword research really is.
Why people don't talk about this is just beyond me!!
Here's why I bring this up...
First of all, I don't want people who are new to KZbin or just getting started to get discouraged when massive corporations like TubeBuddy vs Vidiq, et al make them a bunch of false promises.
So many people buy into what TubeBuddy says and promises only to be disappointed. It happens all the time. Not even to mention their incredible arrogance.
I want to end off by giving you my suggestions for doing proper keyword research and what I've been using to help rank all my videos so well.
Method 1
Simply use what KZbin shows you.
Start by typing a keyword and look at what gets suggested to you by KZbin.
These are all the most popular keywords that people are searching for and you know its worth looking into if it gets suggested.
Add letters of the alphabet to help you come up with different terms.
You could also use Google Trends. Make sure you select KZbin.
That's it. Super simple and doesn't cost you a cent.
Method 2 and the method I personally use and highly recommend.
This is a piece of software called MorningFame.
The cool thing about morning fame is that when you do keyword research, it takes both the suggested keywords I mentioned earlier as well as google and google trends into account.
It then rates it on a scale of 0-100.
There is just so much more to this incredible tool that I would need to create a separate video just to go through it all.
Let me end off by saying that you'd be making a MASSIVE mistake thinking that TubeBuddy for KZbin keyword research is the answer.
I'd much rather support smaller developers who actually have your best interest at heart and who cares about helping you with excellent support.

Today I spent a good 3 hours trying to search for something very specific on KZbin and that is "make better searches on KZbin" my reasoning for it is because I personally WANT to find smaller channels and see what they have to offer. The problem is no matter what I do, I either get the same video repeating itself on search over and over again. The other would be channels from India that have absolutely no relations to what I am looking for. The same is true with the search results also giving me stuff that is not related to my topic. And now I am wondering how does one make a proper search on youtube to being able find new channels with quality content that fit their niche?

Hey mate. No unfortunately not. I get views from over 50 different searches and not just "paypal holding money". In fact if you check my tubebuddy video (again?) you'll notice this. I was actually contacted by the CEO of Tubebuddy after he saw my video and explained to me that they get their estimates from Keywordtool.io. Still only estimates which by my research is WAY off. Hope that helps. Don't get caught up with what keyword tools say you can expect to get. Nobody really knows. Ciao dude.

I don't know how morning fame is going to work for me as at first I was misunderstood their basic plan. I thought with the basic plan( im a tiny weeny youtube channel ) im able to access 12 days for 24 hrs and then reaccess 12 days later. But in fact NO! Im only allow to access this pathetic 24 hrs just 1 day and then to revisit again 12 days later within 24 hrs. And so this basic plan $4.90 is going to work for me basically 2 days in a month? So basically the geniune plan is 12.90 / mth plan .What can I do with this 2 days to learn and research? I don't know....I feel quite sketipcal how it going to help small youtuber but just push you to get a higher plan.

I rank in a lot of my videos with the keywords and the amount of views i get from those ranking tags is super low. When the search volume is supposed to be super high according to them. The impression are super low, even with a high CTR, getting views will not happen without impressions. My point is, they sell you this idea of a miracle tool, they hype it way too much.

i actually have this same issue you talked about but on a much smaller scale. ill do research like crazy and come up with a searchable key phrase and title and description and so on lol and then not get any views. ive currently got 3 videos ranking on the top page of results for the key phrase and theres hardly any views at all. could be the video itself, could be the thumbnail, who knows. but its hard to believe that with as high of a score as it gave me that there wouldnt be more views.

Nah, you're right. TubeBuddys keyword research as well as VidIQs suck. I've actually been working closely with TubeBuddy after the owner approached me (he saw this video) and they are working hard to fix this. Keyword data is a big problem hence why I like and prefer Morningfame. Most of my videos get the love via search from research done through Morningfame. I hate the fact that every so called guru and KZbinr who have been lucky getting to where they are punts software just to make money. The lack of integrity drives me nuts.

I really don't understand why that controversial remarks about tubebuddy as a suck, it is an extension and for many people a senseful tool, so it is also interesting to listen to your good thoughts- 10:15

I am a gigging acoustic cover artist and also incorporate live looping on my videos and live shows. But now it’s hard times... The big struggle is undestanding everything about algorithms, keywords... it’s all so new! But slowly will get there! For instance, I will release a new acoustic live looping cover "Resistance" by Muse. My first topic should be around what i do (acoustic covers) or around the real subject i am covering (Resistance, Muse acoustic cover)? At least, since i subscribed to Morningfame (yesterday) i already feel it to be very user friendly and much more easy to undestand. If you have some hints or tips, i appreciate any help mate! Unfortunately, in the future, I don’t see any good real expectations regarding to real gigs, so... must free my mind and work on my channel! I'm here because I keep seeing on TubeBuddy that I'll have "Excellent" as results for keywords, and then a couple weeks later when I actually go to start planning the video, it suddenly changes to "POOR". Huge difference. I'm suspicious.

Yeah I know it's damn frustrating. Actually busy working along-side TubeBuddy now to improve their keyword tool. I'm hoping the results will be a game changer. For now though, use the KZbin auto suggested keywords and maybe give MorningFame a try. It's pretty bad ass. Best of luck.

Im so glad I watched your video....im a new youtuber (creating that is, I've been consuming videos for years). I just spent about an hour trying to figure out morning fame, and it was really confusing...so I thought I would see what tube buddy has to offer. I am hesitant to invest in something if it is all smoke and mirrors. Still doing more research...honestly, I hate SEO stuff so much... I need some coffee...maybe then I will check out more morning fame info lol. Thank you for your honest review!!

Hey nice job on the video, do you think I should add tags for my channel into my tags? i know tubebudy (used to until recently) suggest tags for search and tags related to my channel or should i just worry about tags related directly to the video?
