Well Pokémon has always seemed to have taken some inspirations from the Mother series, and Creatures Inc. was one of the developers of Earthbound, albeit under the name Ape Inc.

It's not too difficult. I recommend these two tutorial videos if you're new to music hacking. I'm actually using a Fire Red ROM, since info for music hacking in Emerald is not as well documented. If you make the instrumentation in general more relaxed and keep the main melody with the same instrument, it could turn into a Harvest Moon Back to Nature song I guess. Idk, it reminded me of that.
