Thank you Dr. Bolin for such high quality content. These videos helped me get through nurse practitioner school. I wanted to mention that additional treatment option for LTBI also include rifampin for 6 months or ripamitin plus INH for 3 months. At what point would you have a patient with TB or suspected TB complete a quantiferon TB or monospot test?

What we should do if pt multiple received BCG in during his life, and PPD positive then he did IGRA (which is MORE specific) which was negative; No symptoms, CXR normal. Does he still needs to be treated from LTB? Regarding official documents as www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/infectious-diseases/canadian-tuberculosis-standards-7th-edition.html cts-sct.ca/guideline-library/ WHO Firstly, it possible to use other screening tests as the QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-Tube (QFT-GIT) assay or the T-SPOT.TB assay . Both tests are approved by Health Canada and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). And, statistically only 90% of LTB convert to Active form of TB, but the risk of adverse effect INZ higher then benefit as hepatotoxicity. Can you explain this situation. Thanks
