Taylor Golonka Productions LLC releases the official trailer for the documentary film about Michael Chambers, the American dancer, and actor also known as “Boogaloo Shrimp.” Michael is most renowned for his role as “Turbo” in the 1984 cult movie “Breakin’” and its sequel “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo.” He also worked one-on-one with superstar Michael Jackson and shares stories about his experiences in the documentary, which is expected to be released in 2019.

info@boogalooshrimpdocumentary.com
“Michael Chambers will go down in history as being one of the iconic innovators of the b-boy and breakdancing culture,” says documentary filmmaker Taylor Golonka. “This has to be one of the most exciting projects I have ever worked on. I know that Michael has a tremendous following not just here in the U.S., but in Europe and Asia as well, so there’s a lot of interest.”
In the documentary, Michael shares his extraordinary journey as a dancer, choreographer, actor, singer, comedian, host, and speaker. We learn how he started out as a child star playing “Turbo” in the movie “Breakin” with the legendary “broom” scene, and in “Breakin’ 2” with the iconic bedroom scene, where he dances on the walls and the ceiling. Michael also talks about how, still as a teenager, he went on tour with Lionel Richie and appearing in his music video “All Night Long.”
Michael reveals what it was like to work one-on-one with Michael Jackson with his freestyle routines, and how he was featured in many music videos including Chaka Khan’s “I Feel For You” and “Stop The Madness”(an anti-drug music video with Nancy Reagan.) He was also featured in the 1983 documentary “Breakin n’ Enterin’,” played “Urklebot” on the TV Show “Family Matters,” hosted the TV Show “Fun House,” and was featured on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon dancing with Jerry Lewis.
Other highlights included in the documentary cover how Michael choreographed Bart (“The Simpsons”) in “Do The Bart Man” and MC Skat Cat in Paula Abdul’s music video “Opposites Attract.” In more recent years, he has toured Asia, dancing, teaching and singing, and has appeared on the Steve Harvey Show and TMZ.
A master of liquid animation dance with his famous popping, ticking, waving, not to mention the backslide “moon walk”, Michael has a fascinating story to tell.
Produced and Directed by Taylor Golonka
The Documentary is dedicated to Michael Chambers brother Lennis Chambers “Pacco” who passed in July of 2017 and was Michaels Football Hero

The things people don't get it why Boogoloo PopNtaco played a low profile after BreakIn, Michael hired them and their teachings to the pop star were kept in closed door. Micheal Jackson paid them load of money to not make any publicity that they thought him. But Michael Jackson could not have imagined that about his premature death and about the power of social media as it is today...I think they have to blamed themselves if they are underrated. They made that choice to be in the shadow of the greatest king of Pop that this earth will ever know. Rest in peace MJ. Boogaloo and PopnNTaco just move on and pass on the knowledge to make this world a better place as you did it in your young days....

If you know anything about big celebs. They like their life very private. MJ is as private as it gets. You either abide to the contract, or not get the job. Would you turn down a chance to be MJs personal instructor?? Think!!

Bill Bailey was doing the backslide in the 50s. The question is who taught MJ the move? The most credible claims are Jeffrey Daniels and Michael 'Boogaloo Shrimp' Chambers, who Michael reached out to. They influenced the way he executed the move and how he incorporated it with other pop lock moves and routines.

@@bolder2009 Being that Michael Jackson literally sole his whole style from Bob Fosse I will say he got it from Bob and maybe some of those LA cats back in late 70s early 80s.But MJ burrowed most of his shit from Fred Astaire and Bob Fosse facts are right there on KZbin.
@bolder2009
@bolder2009 4 жыл бұрын
@@7thvenom No he took from MANY people just as Fred took from many. James Brown. Sammy Davis Jr. Jackie Wilson. Debby Allen. Don Cambell and the original Lockers. Jerome Robinson's choreography for Westside Story. Gene Kelly. The Nicholas Brothers who gave him some things when he worked with them on the Jackson's variety show. And yes he took from Fosse for Billie Jean and Fred Astaire's dance setpiece in The Bandwagon for Smooth Criminal. But the idea that he '"borrowed most of his shit from Fred Astaire and Bob Fosse" is false. James Brown had the biggest influence on his dancing, and there is plenty of visual evidence to support that, going all the way back to his Motown audition to his last tour.

Jeffrey Daniel tells a different story about who taught Michael the Moonwalk and Backslide and this is an issue I have with the OGs. There are too many of these stories out there from different older cats in an age where clout chasing is at an all-time high. Tell the WHOLE story and stop trying to take sole credit for something that many others had a hand in when it comes to Michael Jackson.
@hellahung

It is said in documentaries that Jeffrey Daniels of Shallamar did the bAckslide first on Soul Train and MJ took notice. But in terms of how close they were. Everyone from the actual Dance scene including I know MJ was close to Taco and Shrimp. The History is clearly documented. You see Popn Taco on the set of MJ Captain EO. Is there footage or History of MJ and Jeffrey Daniels even on the same stage. MJ got Shrimp dance cheoreography credits, did he ever credit Daniels?? I don't think so.
@creepincarl
@creepincarl 2 жыл бұрын
@@hellahung This is a conversation that I have had with Jeffrey Daniel. Jeffrey aint out here looking for credit but it seems Shrimp is out here salty as hell and fighting for the very recognition that Jeffrey has gotten over the years. After watching this documentary in full ive come to the conclusion that the adults in Shrimps circle failed him by not first getting an agent and insuring he got his dues from the beginning. The moment that Joe Jackson whispered in Michael Jackson's ear was the moment that started Shrimp on this very path and fight he is on still in 2022. He is fighting for what Jeffrey already has and it burns him to this day. This DVD is why Shrimp corny ass is getting cooked by the city of Los Angeles right now. This is nothing more than a money grab. For him to shade Jeffrey the way he did in this crap DVD was very telling of that.
@hellahung
@hellahung 2 жыл бұрын
@@creepincarl Your having a conversation with Jeffrey Daniels about who taught MJ the moon walk, and he's not trying to get credit. And Boogaloo Shrimp is salty,..???? Lol. Bro. Shrimp was not trash talking anyone in the documentary. Infact Jeffrey Daniels was not even mention. Are you salty on behalf of Jeffrey cuz he's not mentioned? In the 80s. Turbo aka Shrimp reigned Supreme and was too busy you touring the world and being in music videos and tv shows. Hello, the STAR of Breakin 1 & 2. Turbo has no reason to be salty. He got paid back in the day. And that MJ choreography credit is there.

@@hellahung Did you watch this documentary? If you did, you would not have posted this reply because he clearly mentions his disgust with people acknowledging Jeffrey is the one who taught Michael first. As of right now we are trying to reach out to Shrimp so he can clean that shit up. I will say that he did at least put out information publicly correcting the opening comments of this DVD but there is so much more wrong with the information he allowed to be put in this film. Michael and Jeff need to have a conversation about this bro. Its long overdue and if he feels some kind of way about Jeffrey getting credit for something he does not deserve then im sure we can make this conversation happen. This is something I want to happen seriously.

@@creepincarl I watched it in it's entirely. MJ learned from many people. He was a supporter of the street dance community. I'm pretty sure Mike did not say "Jeffrey Daniels." I'm a Dancer myself and a giant MJ fan. I've seen the videos on Jeffrey as his days with shallamar and Soul Train. The Boogaloo SHRiMP Doc is a resume celebration. If Jeffrey Daniels thinks his shine, fame, and glory is greater. Then he should put out his own documentary and tell his story. This DOCUMENTARY has been wrapped, sent to the printing press and sold. If there's any objectin, it should have been brought up during editing. Stop jumpin on someo ones band wagon. Build your own. The is doc is a celebration of an undenyable LEGACY. Dancers and OGs should be happy for one another. It's 2022, 1986 was how long ago??
