A documentary film in the making about the untold story of Michael Chambers aka Boogaloo Shrimp who played the iconic role of Turbo in the mega franchise MGM blockbuster movie “Breakin 1 & 2”. Directed by an award-winning dancer-filmmaker Ricky Carranza.
The film has been in production since 2014. There have been other documentaries made about him, but this is not the same. Filmed in more than 10 countries. This is a work-of-love, star-studded and evocative project dedicated to one of the best dancers of all time.
If you have an inspiring story to share about him and his movies, please contact us:
info(at)rickycarranzastudios.com
We will be glad to include it in this historical and monumental documentary film.

I saw the documentary Michael Jackson a natural dancer he learned his moves from all these guys the moonwalks that's from shrimp, the king cobra chest move that's taco, and the biggest move that he honestly stole and didn't give credit for it was from popping Pete, it was a move called the Spider-Man, pete said at the mall he would throw his hand out like he's shooting a web and pulled it in and then kick it cuz he's kicking them in the ass, that was one of Michael Jackson's main moves.

It was hard for him, because in the entertainment business , people use people and take advantage of talented people , back in the day they use to have a show called the choreographers ball this is we're everybody from Mc Hammers people Paula Abdul , or Janet Jackson people went to , because the best dancers went there to dance with there groups and teams , the celebrity's team recorded alot of the dance styles and routines and showed them to there personal choreographers , and stoled there moves and said they came up with them ,

I had the Breakin' box set. Came with two cassettes, one was the soundtrack the other was instructional, and the poster that had all the moves from the movie. I studied that poster so much and read it in bed so much I ruined it. I used to breakdance in the eighties. If I did even a fraction of what I did back then today I would have a cardiac arrest. I'm not kidding. I actually had one in 2011. I REALLY let myself ago. I went from record holding super athlete to super dud. People, the time to take care of yourself is NOW. Don't put it off. Once your body stops moving, it dies.

He was my neighbor in East Wilmington California on Watson ave and opp st, a densely Mexican neighborhood his older brother was a one of the only blacks from Wilmas 😎 . Very nice family he and his parents would always say high. I remember he had a nice Camaro. This was in the 80’s and 90’s. He had a lot of stories about what he was up to when I ran into him from time to time. I was just a youngster but He always was positive and up beat speaking Chicano slang Orale Vato. Don’t many know of his being part of the Essay world back in the day. What up Mike hope things are better for you. I remember you having some hard times. You're still one of my heroes, Turbo/Michael. I'm 46 now and from Scotland. You were like a dancing God when I was 9/10 yrs old.

Turbo is still that funny charismatic guy that puts smiles in people's faces. I've seen him in several interviews. He shares a lot of funny and entertaining stories.
