[Al-Hadeed 57:22-24] وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا And when Our Clear Ayat (Signs) are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans) say to those who believe (the weak and poor): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers or disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station." وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا And how many a generation (past nations) have We destroyed before them, who were better in wealth, goods and outward appearance? [Maryam 19:73-74]
