The interview was one of the biggest psy-ops in world history, unfolding live in front of our eyes. It stated both geostrategic goals, propagandazied a bit why there is historical claim to them and also hinted that there's always some underground deplomacy going on, no matter how tough grandpa Joe says, he is. The supermarket in Russia was for internal consumption for the Republican base, as much as Putin saying he was prepared for harder questions for the Russian base. Since we entered this cycle of changing boarders the last two decades, you simply can't ignore geopolitics. Russia is in the state of wanting its access to warmer seas, always was, to be respected as a world power and continue its existence as an equal partner to the US and Europe, while not wanting Siberia or more to be swollen by the 1.5billion Chinese. The war in Ukraine happened because the US elites think that it can forever play "player no.1", while most of the market capitalization is derivatives ( not financial advice ). And all this is a delicate balance as we enter a new phase of ever changing power balance. This is pretty much the summary of the interview, without the propaganda and base appeasement. Edit: and it is a good interview for those, who can look past the latter and understand what is going on.
