This night was beautiful. One of those 1% nights where the weather is absolutely perfect. I launched from a small middle school with no shoes and headed to the reservoir. I had never tried a bare foot water foot drag but I was not disappointed. After a satisfactory amount of risky reservoir flying, I flew south and intercepted Jaclyn on the way to Shoprite. After she left, I meandered back to my launch site staying a few hundred feet high. I had about 20 minutes of sunlight left and the school was on a hill, so I dropped into the valley for some low flying around a few hay trucks. The flight ended with this beautiful sunset from directly above the middle school and a (as soft as I could make it for a 16m wing and no wind) landing on my bare feet.

Was a beautiful flight! Great to escape from humdrum life with you for a while. The chase cam is a great new addition too! Yeah, would be a good idea to shorten its line a little as it catches the prop wash sometimes, so if it were a few feet higher the air should be a bit cleaner. Less worry about snagging it on a tree too! :-)

@Tucker Gott as im sure others will mention, look up those new foot skins...i think thats what there called. they are these super thin rubber skins that actually stick to the bottom of your feet like stickers....i bet they'd be perfect for days like in this video so you can have the best of both worlds, bare feet but with some protection and grip on the bottom for take off and landing. 🤘🤙

I would think a good paramotor class would be to get an old Paramotor, gass free it, modify an old harness with easy change out sections to be cut (using sections of old car seatbelts, maybe), and let the students practice getting out of the gear under controlled conditions in a swimming pool. That way if they ever did go down in water they would have had practice getting out safely.

New Jersey Bill For sure, training for that scenario should be required, one could have an on board inflatable too. Like the ones divers use... They are pocket sized, its a empty deflated bag that has a small CO2 cartridge that inflates it in seconds to create a large balloon

I have a question for you Tucker. I do a lot of white water kayaking, and after a day on the river I get what I call "the floats"... it basically feels like you are still on the water. Do you experience this after flying for a few hours?

I fly paramotor and I do get this sensation sometimes after a bumpy/ turbulent flight. Especially if I go home after an early morning flight and lay down and close my eyes for a nap. I feel like I'm bumping around in the sky. I love it. And then sometimes (most times) I don't feel that sensation at all. I feel it more after bumpy flights.

they cost about 30k for the motor only. you dont need training technically but it is highly recommended

Viper the paramotor itself runs around $8,000 give or take but you can get them used for under $3,000. The wings vary but you can get a good beginner glider for around $3-$4,000.

On the chase cam topic: is the strength of the string set to be low enough that if it got snagged on something it would break before causing you any flight problems or hurt you by yanking on you? Great video as always.

They usually have a pretty weak ring or something connecting them to the glider. That weak connection is meant to break away if the cam got snagged. At least that's the way it SHOULD be set up. I'm sure Tucker's got it that way.
