That smile at 17:45 tells the whole story. Proud dad! Can’t wait to teach my daughter how to use the radios!

This video brought back wonderful memories of my teenage self flying in the right seat with dad in our Piper Lance. Like you, my dad was a highly skilled, patient and calm pilot, helping me work the radios and land. Thank you for bringing back those great memories. While my dad is no longer with us, I’m forever hearing his words of flying wisdom in my head. I know you’re daughter will hold on to the flying memories you are making now.

Very much enjoy the channel! Minor point: suggest (especially as you teach your very capable daughter :-) avoiding "to" and "for" in radio calls... instead use: 15 thousand climbing 17 thousand... 16 thousand descending 10 thousand.

I can't tell you how much I just enjoyed that video. It was great seeing a father and daughter enjoying flying together. You are a great mentor and she has no problem talking on the radio, doesn't need to wait for you unless she is unsure and then she asks. How great is that. The rest of your family looks content in the back, even had some ZZZ time going on. I stayed the night in Tucumcari on my way back from Nebraska a year ago. I had purchased a small plane and was bringing it home. I love that town and its food. I sure could have used a plane like yours to get over some of the terrain. My service ceiling is a little challenged. Thanks again, great video, brought a big smile to my face.

I can say that PHX class B controllers are pretty much top-notch! As a CFI here in the valley, I can't count how gracious they are when I'm asking for practice approaches or many other training environment requests. I think because they deal with SOOOOO many training airplanes that they have a small buffer for when people make the "human" mistake and bust a class B shelf. That all being said! Great video. I've been following for some time. I make a few trips into FFZ on occasion. I didn't realize you call PHX home. I would love to get the opportunity to check out your airplane. It was great to see your daughter enjoying some pilot monitoring duties. I hope one day my kids (6 and 3) will want to do the same with their dad. Anyways, stay safe and may you have blue skies and tail winds!

I could not agree with you more. The PHX TRACON are among the best I’ve seen. I see the human behind the voice.

In my Malibu I have been called by ATC as a Meridian and a JetProp. Not a Mirage yet.
@MalibuFlyer4 жыл бұрын
My personal opinion is that all PA46 piston pilots should simply use the "Malibu" designation when talking with ATC. There is no performance difference that would warrant distinct usage of Malibu, Matrix, Mirage, etc.

You learn something new everyday - Low Altimeters.. First I've ever saw that! Thank you for that information, very interesting. I think this is rare because most people avoid 18K because its the altimeter change alt, and just go to 20K. "N123A 16,000 - CLIMBING - flight level 220 .. N123A Flight Level 220 - DESCENDING - 16,000"

With all of the modern technology available to pilots these days, it absolutely amazes me how people still manage to bust airspaces like that. I could be biased though, I did PPL through CPL right under a class bravo airport in rocky terrain so I trained with airspace discipline. Great airplane! New sub from me
