I think this really reinforces the idea of "Buy What You Love". Just love the watch, regardless of the meta-qualities like hype, exclusivity, etc. There's so much data available for marketing that I'm not at all surprised we're seeing scaled production. If nobody wanted it, then it doesn't have to be a large run. If there's real interest, then either the price or quantity is going to skyrocket. Personally, I'd rather see more made than ADs asking for double or triple the original price.

I have 0 interest in this particular piece but I think we should all be happy that a brand hears the excitement for a piece and makes it more available. If someone bought it as “an investment “ and is upset about what it did to the value that’s a chance you take in “investing”

Literally exactly what they did... I have worn pink into my AD on multiple occasions. Love pink. Actually like this watch. At my AD told me to kick rocks and it wouldn't happen. So something changed.

It was on my radar initially, then being a so called limited run obviously stopped that idea. Now it’s freely available, bring it on! I buy watches to keep, not to invest in financially, but to invest in because I like the bloody watch!🤩👏🏼

Report from the field. Went to the Tudor boutique (run by Watches of Switzerland ) at Lenox Square in Atlanta today. No pink dials yet. The SA said she had not seen any for a few months. On the list for a few weeks. Fingers crossed! Also, they did have the blue boutique only version.

I understand. So much about buying a luxury watch is not about the actual watch, but about the ephemera beyond it - the status of the name on the dial, the number of hours it took the artisan to hand craft the movement, etc. A watch that is generally available is great. A watch that is highly limited is fine. But the problem is when something about this context changes. If you were buying a 'hand skeletonised movement' and then found out that it was machine done, it wouldn't change the watch that you bought, but it would affect your feelings about it.

The interesting thing is, after it was announced, I went to a local AD and asked for the pink bb chrono since its my favorite color. Since the only watch I bought was a seiko for my wife before he said he can put me on the wait list. He was quite openly talking (since he's not a rolex AD) and said that his main customers are gonna get it first if they wanted to but the situation is gonna settle after september and i should definitely call him or come by if I specifically don't want the pink bb anymore. I am yet waiting for a call (also I never went back to ask how is the situation) but I wonder if it was random chance that he said september and its now listed on the site...

I like it A LOT! My Tudor Black Bay Bronze Boutique Edition is the Real Deal. Tudors are often underrepresented and under-appreciated. I don't ascribe to the limited editions, hard-to-find, exclusivity club. Glad that fans can roll with one!

I’m very happy about this because I basically wrote it off that I’d never get one. Most Rolex/Tudor dial colors are so plain and boring so this spices it up a little, it adds a little fun. I was on the fence about a Black Bay Chronograph, I’ve wanted one in my collection but I wasn’t the most unique thing… this however I think is pretty cool, most of my watches are plain black dials and I have a speedy, I’ve wanted an automatic chronograph with a date for a very long time, this has encourage me to go for it.

I actually understand exactly what you are saying WOS told me they are only getting 1 pink dial and they chose me , it made me and the watch feel special, (1 month ago ), I wore it as if to say , yes I got the pink look at me 😂😂😂, it’s lost it exclusive feel , but then if I didn’t have it i would be saying Tudor sold out it’s regular clients only giving to the elite 😂. Keep in mind, it's in the catalog but the catalog says find a retailer. When you call the retailer, they tell you they don't have any. They said it would be a small numbered release. We have no idea what that number is. 5,000 is a small release. 10,000 is a small release. Not sure why anybody's getting upset unless they're only intention was to get the watch and flip it. What do you care if somebody else has your watch? If you like it, you like it.

Because when collecting anything, rarity is attractive. If you’re just buying a watch because you like it and it’s your only watch, fair enough, but if you’re a collector, provenance and rarity matter and make an item (in this case a watch) more sought after.

Even before this i like Tudor more than Rolex. As an avid supporter of positive consumerism, this makes me like them more and looking to buy their watch in the future. I don't condone exclusivity, especially the engineered ones. For me I just want to pick something i like at retail price, not overinflated market price.

It’s available but will be very limited. Not impossible to get, just extremely hard to get. I spoke to my local AD and he said they only have 3 allocations for the rest of the year. At least that’s what Tudor has told them. It’s still very limited just super hard to get. And if you payed above list for it. Well that’s a life lesson worth reflecting on. Hate to say it but anyone who wants less of a certain watch out is part of the problem. I’m on the list for one and will buy it immediately upon call.

Can’t say who, but someone I know has worked with Beckham in watches had asked for one from his PA, they said no. As they’re all allocated and no more would be available. I honestly believe they thought that and Tudor have decided to make it a production model after the fact, albeit with form doing this in the past: This isn’t actually the first shipment. There’s been 2 so far and a third for customers is coming soon. I don’t know whether to try and get one or not! Tbh, it’s like the Milan and F1 variation, I think they were always going to be. Tudor do this. The initial MN FXD was available with a 2021 caseback. There’s only about 150 of them. So they made that exclusive and then all other caseback dates are easily gotten. Tbh people should expect this from Tudor now, sadly. Say it’s hyper limited, off catalogue and see if it’s popular enough to make a production run.
