It's good to see Mindy in all these videos. I know this is a busy time for everyone, and it's good to see you both spending time together. Also, Mindy positively surprises with her comments and her teaching segments about the tudor style.

This new modular goes straight to my top 5, possibly top 3 favourite modulars! Am loving h the Tudor style and I hope they do more European architecture in the modular line.
@UnisaurDinocornBricksАй бұрын
Wow, that is awesome, I don't really have any modulars but I feel like this might have to be a must purchase! Being British I love the fact that it is not another North American themed building. The attention to detail is so good. The printed piece in the flat with the sunflower lanyard is so important to people with hidden disabilities. My daughter has autism and relies on her lanyand when out of the house!
@countrabricksbuildcraze8916Ай бұрын
Lanyard . how do a lanyard. Help. It's just a thing with design in it to put around neek I got a Lego one.

@@countrabricksbuildcraze8916 The sunflower lanyard scheme is run in Europe to help those with hidden disabilities. Shops and public institutions know to look out for it. It helps with my daughters confidence when she is out and about. There is a great article on the lego website in the news section.

Thank you for this review. When I first saw this modular I felt it didn't fit in with the others but it's really starting to grow on me now. The building looks good, and I like all the details and the minifigs included. Like you Alex I think it is weird the cat-lady has to walk through the clock workshop to get to her appartment, but I am sure that could be fixed by adding a small internal wall if needed. I will get this for my collection (have bought every modular since I started collecting when the Firehouse came out) so I will get this too (even though I am not sure where to place it). But I might not get it on January 1st, will have to see how the finances are when the christmas shopping is done.

Could be that the clock maker and the cat lady are married and they share the apartment above :) Great review Alex

So, I'm starting to think of this as The Alex & Mindy Show (like Bricking News with Alex and Jason). I love the playful fun vibe Mindy always brings. Long ago BrickTsar had Mrs. BrickTsar on his channel and she even had her own channel for a while (on nutrition, etc). The Mindy Channel coming soon? The Tudor looks amazing -- I'm running "one behind" on modulars so I'll need to get The Natural History Museum next -- but great new modular to look forward to. This is the first review I've seen -- so thanks guys.

I have a similar reaction to this set as the Brick Bank. It's not quite as small but like BB it is a corner set with a strangely coloured building on its extreme right face. Like the BB but even moreso, I think the design of the main building is fantastic. It is just so beautiful; for me, it's the most exciting modular building since Assembly Square and the Corner Garage. I think that I will do with it what I did with BB - for that set I built the standard configuration and then wanted a bank with an additional floor so it actually looked grand instead of a mini-me bank, and I wanted to get rid of the laundromat. It took 3 sets to build my new, taller bank (I bought 5, one for the original configuration, one to keep unopened - I have every modular both built and unopened). For this one, it won't be necessary to add a new layer so I will "only" purchase 4 sets - one for the original configuration and 2 for the configuration minus the blue building and one to keep unopened). (I had a similar idea for Police Station - loved the central building hated the small side builds - but didn't get the additional sets in time. This time I won't delay.) Lego is quite sneaky about reducing plastic in modulars. They began it with Parisian Restaurant and Detective's Office - the stairs on the side and outdoor back part of PR, the one shorter half of DO. And then with BB they had a baby modular, with Palace Theatre the roof is purely facade. Since then the only full-size modulars have been Assembly Square and Corner Garage (although even it does cut corners!). Even last year's expensive modular on 1.5 baseplates cheats by missing a whole floor. This year's sneak is to copy Parisian Restaurant but with less credibility, in having stairs on the side so as to remove the need to brick right to the boundary.
@derekchapman2027Ай бұрын
Actually, despite the smaller visible size from the exterior they are increasing in total plastic. Police Station is heavier than town hall (the heaviest of the early Modulars), and Boutique hotel is close. This is because there are lots of modulars (like this one) with 2 stud width walls now, and highly detailed interiors that feature interior walls.
@maggie198333Ай бұрын
I told myself not to buy modular buildings because it’s a slippery slope. I almost got Boutique Hotel. But I thought the inside build is a bit repetitive, so I haven’t gotten it. This Tudor Corner one might be my first purchase down the line. Color selections play a huge part in my decision in purchasing. This set has a lot of unique colors. And the Tudor style reminds me of AOT.

Hard to beat the Ghostbusters Firehouse. This new modular is pretty great, but falls short to the greatest LEGO set out there.
@jimm244Ай бұрын
Thanks, good overview. The interior is awesome. I’m not in love with the exterior, maybe because it’s a new direction in architecture (not the first time they’ve done that). Or, perhaps it looks contracted optically-I’m glad you showed the size is reasonably standard. Anyhow, I’m sure it will grow on me. I collect the modulars so it’ll either be a day-1 purchase for the GWP, or a double points grab at the next event.

I love this set. I am not a huge modular fan (because I don't collect city stuff most of the time - except space stuff ), but this set might convert me. It's also usable as a medieval in or something like that with a bit of elbow grease. Also the PRINTS ONLY treatment this set got is what the Medieval Town Square should have gotten as well. Do you have a list or image of all the prints in this set? I am really excited to see them as soon as possible.

Good looking set. But I think it might look out of place in a modern city. It has a old downtown feel. Like it’s historic and the city council won’t allow it to be torn down. And this is a exam at the age old question. Would you rather a nice big building with cosmetic details. Or a smaller building with a very nice hidden interior.
