Owner of an issued M.N.80 94010 bought in Brest 18 years ago here. Having received a M.N.22 civilian FXD a few days ago, I can only echo your comments. This wears much better on my medium sized (7 inch) wrist than I would have thought. Very clever design, and completely in the spirit of the original snowflake Tudor Submariner's. Bought a couple of Crown & Buckle single piece fabric strap with adjustable loop, and they fit this watch really well.

This video, and your page in general, are fantastic! Thanks for all the informative content! I’ve been thinking about purchasing a vintage Tudor to celebrate acquiring a graduate degree, but I’ve always wondered how well they keep time? I know that no one should expect pristine accuracy from a mechanical movement but my experience with newer ETA movements (2428-2 and 2892-A2) have been great. Should I expect the same from the Caliber 2784?

Great video, I was under the impression that the issued version of the FXD had a ETA or Selitta movement fitted rather than an in house Tudor one?
@WATCHISTRY3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! While I haven't seen anyone open up the issued version of the FXD, I would be really surprised if it was any different from the Tudor in-house movement in the civilian FXD. The vintage Tudor MNs were also identical to their civilian counterparts, using ETA movements, which made them more attractive from a cost perspective than the Rolex Submariners of the same time period.
@steves83223 жыл бұрын
If you pull strap further through the watch and bring buckle close to side it will shorten the tail. I have 7” wrist and thought strap was too long but was actually plenty short once I adjusted properly. You didn’t have to cut it. Love the watch though! Just secured my 21 before the end of the year😁picking it up tomorrow!
@WATCHISTRY3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It also depends where you'd like the buckle to sit on your wrist and the amount of doubling up you prefer- on my smaller wrist I still had excess in that configuration. I am also hearing that there may be different sized straps for different markets, mine being for the US market.
@PoltergeistWorks2 жыл бұрын

Did Tudor ever make a fixed lug model back in the day like the Milsub?
@WATCHISTRY Жыл бұрын
Generally no; the Tudor Submariners used spring bars. That said, I have seen one online, and only one, Tudor Submariner issued to the MN that had fixed lugs; because I haven't seen others, it's hard to say how that came about.

On my 6.25 I got the strap ok by ensuring the maximum amount was on the double over - ie making sure the titanium loop was close to the watch head. In that way the OG strap was just about OK. That said a Garmin strap (about £4) even better

Picked up the FXD a month ago - absolutely love it and really nice addition to the Pelagos range. I used to own the Pelagos LHD and the FXD wears thinner and smaller despite the lug-to-lug at 52mm which in reality wears smaller with the NATO straps. Sold my LHD in June when I expressed interest in a new Submariner 124060 no date. Got the call to pick up and couldn’t be happier to get one at retail! Despite that I was looking at a BB58 Blue. Then I heard the FXD being released so asked my AD keep me in mind. Happy to have picked up 2 brilliant divers in the Submariner and FXD 😎
