Great video. Thank you. I recently traded my Blue Pelagos 42 for a blue FXD. For me, it was an upgrade. Love it!

Your collection video is my fav KZbin video ever. It was the reason I started my relationship with my local AD. Got the Tudor Blackbay and Rolex Polar in past few months. Hopefully many more to come. Thank for sharing your experiences.

I really enjoy your videos. I love my BB54, it is what I put on every evening when I take a Rolex off. Thanks for the two-month review, sounds like a winner.

Thanks for being a viewer man. I love that the BB54 has so much love out there for it. I've grown to love my BB58 more over time.

I’m glad to hear you are loving your, I’m trying to pick up the blue FXD for my 30th birthday in April (my collection needs some color)

Good choice and good luck! The blue fxd is very elusive.

Same here. First time I tried on the Black FXD I was like "oh boy I am going to have to own this one". I've just let the pricing cool off a bit and can now pick one up for about $900 under retail. I also agree 100% about the P39 - while its a great size and watch I prefer the tooltastic vibe of the FXD. The FXD is a pure tool design and I plan to add one to my collection soon!

yeah absolutely wait for the price to bottom out. It's an incredible watch, even better at a great price.

I think the MN looks killer on an Olive drab or coyote brown nato!

I love the engineering of the AK. Would bet my life on it.

@@aussieexpatwatches likewise! I shot the 2019 ROK. I’m a huge fan. They are fun to collect from all over the world. Addicting like watches.

LHD GMT is a huge winner once you get over the initial shock and awe of it. In a big collection it stands out as a piece which has all the great things about the gmt master 2, but tickles your brain in a unique way.

I agree! Very appealing. Very hard to be redundant in any collection.

I’ve been looking at the FXD black lately. Seems they are available from ADs.

Disliked the Pelagos 39 too on the wrist. Seemed great in pics but it was a huge disappointment. The Blue FXD on the other hand was better on the wrist. Only disappointment for the FXD was the bezel action vs the regular Pelagos 42 which is butter smooth.

I bought the FXD for the same reasons - I hated the 39s sunburst dial. I like the FXD because the dial is matte, the case is dull gray, and the strap bars grab me - as a kid, I loved those old plastic fixed bar Timex watches. I missed not having having a chronometer grade movement - I’d sold two Black Bays, two Explorers and a Submariner because as much as I liked aspects of each of those watches, this is the first one that doesn’t feel tarted up with things like: glossy dial, polished metal surrounds, shiny case, shiny bezel. I don’t like bracelets or spring bars, or putting leather bands on dive/tool watches.

People also complain about there being too much negative space on the dial of the Pelagos 39. I do with the markers were slightly larger, but overall I love the look of the P39. Both my BB54 and P39 fight for wrist time on a daily basis.
@aussieexpatwatches5 ай бұрын
Absent the rest of the pelagos line, the p39 might be the best watch on the market honestly.

Spot on comments about the Ranger. Given you also have an Explorer 36, would it also not have been superfluous?
@aussieexpatwatches7 ай бұрын
I feel the retro styling and fully brushed looke lean the ranger towards utilitarian, while the ex36 is a do it all watch but actually on the more elegant side of things.

Thanks for the lack of specs and pics. Real talk is the best. I’m polarized by this one… but, I know I’m a rubber and bracelet guy
@aussieexpatwatchesАй бұрын
Glad to help! Yeah I'm not gonna do better on specs, but I can hopefully help on ownership experience.

I had the chance try on the Pelagos at a local Tudor event. It is a very nice tool watch if thats what your after. I found the Ranger very dull looking and yes too much negative space on that dial. To be honest it looked cheap, almost unfinished.

Yeah.... i think next iteration will likely nail it...

With titanium all the rage, Pelagos has to be considered rhe flagship line over the Black Bay right now. They seem to lose less on secondary market too as the utility is there over bulky BBs.
@aussieexpatwatches7 ай бұрын
Im glad the line is getting the attention it deserves. There's almost something for everyone now. Id love a 39mm pelagos in matte, I dont think it'll happen.

What’s wrong with the original Tudor straps? Are they uncomfortable
@aussieexpatwatches7 ай бұрын
The black rubber one is just, terrible. The green velcro is nice, just not for my smaller wrist.
@madman947 ай бұрын
I have a relatively thin wrist & hate velcro on watch straps, so a strap upgrade would be a must for me also.
@aussieexpatwatches7 ай бұрын
@@madman94 yeah for exactly this, I did not like the blue, I knew finding straps that I would love with it would be a huge challenge. And who needs a challenge when you're paying this much money?
