The way Gary Rossington bends those lead solos is simply perfect, what an amazing man with an amazing talent. Cant imagine lynyrd skynyrd without Gary and his les paul. God Bless Gary Rossington and Long Live the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band #GaryRossingtonGuitarGod
@pjburke1314 жыл бұрын
His tone on this song is killer. The bends, those pinch harmonics . . .
@CoalMiner379 Жыл бұрын
@@pjburke131I couldn't agree more, As many times as iv Hurd others cover Gary's solos on Tuesdays gone and countless others there just isn't anyone that can match Gary's tone note for note. They do get close of course but it's just not that Gary Rossington sound you know. Just like on the slide parts of freebird, he tunes his B string to G sting that way as he's hitting them at the same time it gives that more drawy kinda steel guitar sound , Gary talks about it on a interview of how to play freebird on KZbin if you got time I really recommend watching its very interesting. Gary Rossington is just in a class and league all of his own just like Slash, Duane Allman to, but idk what it is I'm just obsessed with Gary Rossington's playing and techniques he has. It's took me a long time and I'm still not accurate but still took me a long time to get my Gary Rossington Edition Gibson LesPaul and Gary Rossington edition Gibson Sg to come close to sounding like his sound. Maybe oneday though I'll be able to perfect that sound we know and love lol

My all time favorite Skynyrd song. Love the song as much as I love the Billy Powell piano solo on live versions of Free Bird.
@darellgullion4888 Жыл бұрын
I seen them perform this song in 1992. It was a live outside concert in Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. Ed King was with them when they came to play. They also did Sweet Home Alabama and closed it out with Free Bird was the first and best concert I've ever seen.

Another great version of this song. I love going to concerts and have not seen Skynyrd yet but I am watching their tour schedule. This song is better than Stairway to Heaven and I love Zeppelin as well. This song has a bit of sadness in it, yet a feeling of hope too. Brings tears to my eyes. All those people together for this concert and what most do not think about is that every time you get together with this large group of people thousands, all of you people will never be together again in the same room. That is something to think about. Also, Who is the drop dead gorgeous woman that the camera man shows at 5:03 ? Man the woman of my dreams. So beautiful. I love you. I can't stop playing this video and looking at her.

Yes she is beautiful. She'd be about 50 today doing the math. Wish they had kept the camera on her longer. The guy behind her looks old enough to be her father if they're dating. Lucky man. He's late forties himself at this concert which is 24 years old. He must be her boyfriend. I wonder if they've ever watched this?
