Tugboat & Vintage Workboat Race Start Auckland New Zealand 2015

AUCKLAND NEW ZEALAND January 26, 2015. One event over the three day Celebrations for the 175th Anniversary of the founding of Auckland is a Boating Regatta. Tugboat & Vintage work boat racing is a recent addition to the traditional Sail Boat racing. This Video covers the start of theTugboat & Vintage Workboat Race.

Waipape was just plain downright showing off. ;) [Yes, I know they're just being friendly to the crowd]. It does nicely demonstrate the abilities of a good tug but I doubt that many of the crowd along the quay will realise that.

I wish I had been there on the water with you all, but thanks for giving us the next best thing. And it has got me wondering why we can't be doing a similar thing here in Poole, UK

KIMDINO1 cos we in poole are more interested in parking tickets, speed cameras, tv licences, bedroom tax, other taxes, general 'you cant do this/you cant do that legislation and other stuff bureaucratics, we are not as cool as Australasia and other parts of the world. Thats why

Well now, look at that! 0:16 shows an early X-Bow design if I'm not mistaken although the designers of the TURIHAUA may not have realised there were on to something. Perhaps they were, and if so, perhaps some design royalties from Northern Europe would not go amiss!
