My favorite cop thing is “It’s a lawful order” like that’s some umbrella catchall to force you to do what they tell you.

Its kind of an important thing for cops to say though. Pred has a huge issue with a cop one time outside SNR Buns because she never told him it was a lawful order. The reason this is so important is because if a cop specifies that his order is lawful then that essentially means that the cop is taking responsibility for whatever the outcome is of following that order. For example, if a cop said to you, "give me a burger" it would be absurd to assume that citizens have to follow that order because that is something the officer is saying personally and not from a position of power. If everything a cop said had to be followed then they would just be walking around like kings bossing everyone around. Saying that it is a lawful order opens theirself up to scrutiny of whether that order was necessary, or negligent.

@@WARnTEA Doesn't change the fact that they can't just say anything is a lawful order. A lawful order means it's an order backed up with law. Which many times there isn't in the orders they give. Besides, if a demand is made upon another person from a police on duty in uniform it shall be assumed to be done in their capacity as a policy officer. So it's redundant to say lawful order in that case.

A person isn't required to follow all demands made by a police officer because police are allowed to lie in pursuit of the truth, and a person has a right to refuse to search/seizure, or refuse to talk. This is why the lawful order line is so important because it marks the line in the sad where a suspect knows that they can't refuse anymore and that they have to cooperate even if what the police officer is doing is illegal.

There should be a district attorney on the server. Imagine if the cops were to try to push something stupid on you and present it to the DA just to be told they're dumb and to drop the charges. With a good DA that shit could be good content.

The problem is all the people they have made judges or heads of PD or anything in high positions seem to lack common sense in the most basic of instances so why would that change, they would probably make Crane DA.

Richard has like a major point PD should have a person (OOC strikes) strike points to the point where if they reach X ammount of points they can no longer be a cop in the city Another thing is like all cops should have Lifers that if they falsely charge a person with a crime (even if its just 1 false item or way they catch them) they should be forced to play the lifer for 3 times amount of time they gave the person and cannot get on duty till that time is documented so they understand what they are doing

She is definitely aint wrong they some have done some weird stuff but most who are taking the time to investigate are doing far more than they used to do i find this far more enjoyable they actually have to put in an effort to get info

I think the biggest problem with the PD is that the cops are arresting people first and then spending hours in the cells trying to figure out what they can actually charge people with. If you are making an arrest you really should know exactly what charges you are going to give them if you catch them. It should only take like 10minutes to make an adjustment and make sure you aren't forgetting any charges. These cops literally be spending 30minutes to an hour staring at their MDT reading the charge list trying to figure out how badly they can make the charges. There needs to be more of a focus on letting people go in favor of building a case and getting more information to push charges at a later date.

Feels like NP has been trying too hard to be as real as possible EXCEPT when it comes to the legal system and police. Why aren’t cops suspended when they mess up? Why is it more of a charge for robbing a cop than attempted murder of a cop? If they want it to be more realistic it has to go both ways
