If we wanted to omit the frayed edge, we would have to sew the lining and outside right sides together and then flip/topstitch right? should I also add extra seam allowance at the brim in this case?

You are a great instructor! I love your videos! I have two rotary cutters but I really like the one you are using in the video. What is its name please? Does it cut heavy fabric? Thanks much.
@SachisStudio2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words! they really mean a lot to me right now 💕 I have many rotary cutters but the one in the video is Olfa, but an old model. They cut heavy weight fabric fairly well. I hear good things about new versions but I really like the vintage ones, so I stock up whenever I find them online :)
@rinawallace19622 жыл бұрын
@@SachisStudio I have a 45 and a 60 Olfa and they both work fine with many fabrics. But I work a lot with mud cloth, which is very rough and takes a lot of strength and energy to cut... And, the blades get dull really fast. Do you have a specific suggestion for a rotary cutter for tough jobs? Thanks for your replies!!!
@SachisStudio2 жыл бұрын
I only use my rotary cutters for light weight fabrics so I don’t know much about that…sorry I can’t be of much help! For thick fabric, I usually trace the pattern and cut the inside line with my Shozaburo shears (Japanese fabric scissors). I’ve been experimenting with electric scissors lately, but they are tricky to maneuver, but easy on hands so that could be something to consider…
@rinawallace19622 жыл бұрын

hey i'm having a little trouble, i'm assuming the 60 degrees is because 60*6=369 degrees? but when i measure from the one sixth widest point measurement (outside of center horizontal line) to the peak of the hat the angle is way less than 60 degrees? not sure how to sort that out if that makes sense lol?
@bobbob-wv7ho Жыл бұрын
oops sorry sachi, i was reading my angle wrong. it much closer now good enough to make work with some slight adjustment :)
