What can you do to make it smaller if it ends up to big after sewing? I dont understand what you mean about putting in felt between the ribbon. ????
@SachisStudio
@SachisStudio 3 күн бұрын
you put a strip of felt between the sizing ribbon and the hat for “padding”, it doesn’t make the hat smaller but it makes the hat fit tighter on your head. I’m planning to make a video about this☺️

This totally works! I watched last night and tried this today. I was sewing straps with a stripe pattern that runs lengthwise so it was important that things stayed lined up. Just grab both ends and help feed it through ... perfect! Big thanks Sachi!

The fur looks off. Nap lays oddly in one direction. I'd have used something else and sewn a long strip over entire neck area for the hole...not messy patches.
@SachisStudio

I’d love to learn a better technique!😊 Could you elaborate on that?? I don’t quite understand your explanation… as you can see in the video, I also used one long strip of fur trim. What would you use instead?

you don’t “absolutely” need it, but it prevents the hat from stretching! it doesn’t have to be grosgrain ribbon, either…

Oh these hats are adorable. What were the measurements of your youngest sons head at the time you first drafted the pattern? My great granddaughter's head measures 18" around... I was just wondering if I could just use the measurements in your other video for her? She's 15 months old... your son looks older and a bit bigger than her.
@SachisStudio
@SachisStudio 24 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching❣️My son’s head measurement was always at 60~80 percentile compared to peers, and he was about 3-4 years old when I made most of the videos, so I think it’s safe to say you probably want to shrink the patterns a little for your great granddaughter! but even if it comes out a little too big… kids grow into them so fast…so nothing will be wasted❤️

Thank you for this. My son is like a bean pole. It's so hard to find pants that fit nicely. I really appreciate that you included how to finish the seams by hand. It's hard to use the machine when the cuffs are really small.
