It's nowhere near as exact, but I think I made a pretty decent Chiaotzu in Pathfinder. A halfling with the "Creepy Doll" trait (which gives them the pale, doll-like, face and huge staring eyes... It lets them hide in plain sight by going limp) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Class: Arcanist The difference between an Arcanist and a Wizard is that a Wizard has to specifically select which and how many uses of a spell they prepare each day. An Arcanist on the other hand can prepare a certain number of spells per day/long rest, and can use any given prepared spell as many times as they have spell-slots. Say each class has 6 spell slots. Wizards would have to prepare 6 copies of Magic Missile to use it 6 times, and are limited to ONLY that spell until they have another long rest. An Arcanist could prepare 5 different spells but then could decide to use 2 Magic Missiles, 3 Shield, and a Flare Burst, or they could use 5 Magic Missile and 1 Shield, etc. Arcanists are basically versatile spellcasters. This meant that I could prepare all of the different attack or support spells I wanted for Chaiotzu, and it didn't matter if I needed to change plans on a whim. While I couldn't find a way to get him to properly Fly at the level he was built at (Lv4 Arcanist), I was able to give him Boots of Levitation, allowing him to float up and down at will, up to 30ft a turn. This would allow him to float up and out of melee range (though because the BoL only move up and down, I agreed with my DM that I'd lose any AC dex bonus if I'm in mid-air, making me vulnerable to spells and ranged weapons), and bombard the opponents with attack spells from the air... which I relished doing... Chiaotzu doesn't have that many attacks, so I had to improvise and give him a few attacks from other Z-Fighters. Typically I spells that had Ray or "telekinetic" effects. His signature moves were: *Magic Missile (basic ki blasts) *Burning Ray (Dodonpa) *Scorching Ray (Super Dodonpa) *Flare (cantrip)/Flare Burst (Lv1 spell)/Burst of Radiance (Lv2 spell) - Solar Flare *Fireball (Yamcha's Spirit Ball, or even Goku's Spirit Bomb) And in regards to his telekinetic abilities, he had spells like: *Mage Hand *Shield *Shadow Trap *Sleep *Levitate He had a number of other spells, just because I had to choose stuff as I was levelling up, but I avoided using them for the most part. The only feat he had worth mentioning was "Eldritch Eye", which gave him an eye in his forehead (ala Tien) that allowed him to use Detect Magic, gave a +8 perception when trying to spot invisible creatures, as well as cast Divination spells at +1 level, for one minute. However, it was a once per day usage. There was one little homebrew part to this character. It was constantly joked at the table that he was going to blow himself up at some point... so my DM and I agreed that I could give him a tweaked version of the spell "Final Sacrifice" (which is usually a Summoner spell, allowing them to blow up their Eidolon to deal heavy damage to all near by). She said that if I was ever about to die, or if we defeat the final boss of the campaign... or if I just wanted to change characters... I could do so in style by having Chiaotzu go nuclear! (which I very much did in the final battle... and just like in the series, I failed spectacularly. I went to do it, and completely missed as I ran at the boss, blowing up about 10ft behind him after getting a Nat 1 on my charge attack lol) ------------------------------------------------------------------- His Arcanist Exploits got a little weird, and aren't really necessary for the build. As I played him (eventually he got to Lv7). He started off with a basic healing exploit called Mending Flesh, then Counterspell, and then later on I found I liked the idea of him getting more and more demonic, giving him more evil spells like Corrosive Touch, Curse Lesser Terrain, Animate Dead, etc... so I gave him the exploit "Damnation Sussurrus Su", which played demonic choir music in the head of my target, causing them to hurt themselves in their confusion, dropping any weapons they're holding in the process. This later added in a fun exploit called Dimensional Slide which let him move in ANY direction up to 10ft per level, as long as I could see the place I would be moving to, all as a 5ft step (so not taking up my entire movement). I enjoyed floating up in the air and then moving up through a portal to another spot up to 70ft away from where I was, but still in mid-air. It was a great wait to attack enemies who were staying behind cover. I already remember one time where we couldn't get through a solid door, but there was a tiny gap at the bottom of the door that allowed me to see into the room. This allowed me to use DS to pop into the room and unlock the door for the rest of the group. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Overall, he was a fun character to play. I wish I could remake him in D&D, but I doubt it would be possible. I think if I was to play that style again, I'd probably make a more generic DBZ character, so as to expand into different types of spells and feats and such.

Now that unarmed fighting is a thing, I made this build dipping 2 levels into fighter, 5 levels of Zealot Barbarian, and then took a page out of your Goku build and threw the rest into Divine Sorcerer. The stats are spread a bit less thin, I can get d8s on unarmed strikes almost immediately, and stronger "Ki blasts."

Somebody asked about a build for Undyne from Undertale, but I can't find the comment now to reply to it specifically. If you're reading this, good sir and/or madame, this is my take on it: Soldier background, Fighter 2/Undying Warlock 18. Be sure to take the "Spear Master" feat from Unearthed Arcana (you can get it at 1st level if you choose Variant Human, there's no need to be a Triton because of your 10th level Patron ability unless you _really_ want to breathe water _now;_ other race suggestions include Half-orc, Orc, Bugbear, Scourge Aasimar, and Beasthide Shifter, all have good traits that work in-character). Make sure to take your first level in Fighter so you get proficiency with heavy armor, since you only get light and medium if you multiclass into it later. All we really _need_ from Fighter is heavy armor proficiency, Second Wind, and Action Surge; you can go up to level 3 for Archetype perks (I like Maneuvers, personally), 5th level for Extra Attack, and even up to 7 Fighter levels if you _really_ want to get the Eldritch Knight's bonded weapon and war magic (make an attack with your spear after throwing a bunch of magic spears (Eldritch Blast), because Undyne really likes hitting things with spears), but then you lose out on Undying warlocks 14th level perk, and you _are_ "Undyne the Undying" after all. Alternately, replace the Fighter levels with Paladin (Vengeance or Heroism oath, obviously) and you get Divine Sense (for sensing INJUSTICE), Lay on Hands (your unusual amount of Determination keeps you going), Smites (you hit like an out-of-control freight train), and access to the spells Compelled Duel (the Green Soul ability), Heroism, and the Smite spells; or you can go Ranger (probably Hunter or Gloomstalker) to get a Favored Enemy ("Humans" would be in character, but maybe not necessarily appropriate for your campaign), Primeval Awareness, and the spells Ensnaring Strike (the Green Soul ability), Hunter's Mark, and the shooty spells (Conjure Volley and Conjure Barrage work with thrown weapons such as spears or javelins) but going this route makes you reliant on physical ammo and you don't get your trademark heavy armor. The Vengeance Paladin option actually _might_ be worth going to 7th level for Relentless Avenger and losing the 14th level Undying warlock perk, but Heroism only needs 5 levels, or even just 3 if you don't care about Extra Attack. Because you're an Undying warlock, you're astoundingly tanky even without heavy armor and you can throw magical spears (Eldritch Blast (8 shots at once if you Action Surge)), you can breath underwater (say it's because of your gills), you age super slowly (say it's because you're a monster), and if someone brings you below 0 HP, you can stand back up, regain 30+hp in a single turn, and proceed to keep fighting. All while your Bard bestie stands there going "Nyeh Heh Heh!"

I'd love to see more characters like vegeta built. Don't get me wrong, I love it when characters mesh nicely into D&D, but I really love the videos where it feels like you had to really work to make the character feel right. To me, It's a lot more satisfying to see a Bayonetta or Vegeta video than a Reinhardt video where he's just a straight level-20 Paladin.

I kinda disagree. While Turlock makes all of his videos entertaining I don’t like the ones where he’s trying to fit lvl40 characters in lvl20 builds. I don’t know much about Bayonetta but with builds like Vegeta and Superman it can’t really work. While I’ll support whatever work he does I never minded the straight 20lvl builds. It doesn’t matter if it’s 20 lvls of paladin because every paladin can be different.

@@justintack5205 not gonna lie, after i made Vegeta a Wildhunt Shifter (which things cant get advantage on him, meaning Reckless Attack has no downsides), i then went on to make Trunks a Swiftstride Shifter (i typically make the saiyans into shifters) Samurai Fighter, which focuses on advantage. meaning he's an amazing character against most things in dnd, but at a direct disadvantage to his father, which actually makes sense

Oathbreaker Paladin/Hexblade Warlock. Craft that his sword is the one he's able to summon, and through being a Hexblade with 'pact of the blade' he'll be able to morph his hexweapon into whatever weapon he wants. I would say more paladin than warlock as I recall Zamasu was more the caster of the two - or rather - the sword/scythe thing was Goku Black's most distinguishable thing (minus the OBVIOUS pink hair)

I'll say that's one thing that annoys me about 5e, that its math really, REALLY relies on the assumption that you're going to max out a single stat. I remember back in 3.5 and Pathfinder when the damage of Longbows was determined by your strength (and having the right level of composite longbow), meaning that a lot of warriors could and WOULD invest in both.

Definitely a more ki based build than my initial idea. When I went with this I built with fighter/brute being main class, sun soul secondary, and barbarian just enough to rage. I call it "early stage super saiyan" where he has less time as a super. 11 levels of fighter gives his 3 attacks, 7 monk levels for everything up to evasion and stillness of mind(and 7 ki isn't the worst), 2 barbarian for reckless attack and danger sense. He only had up to 2 minutes of super saiyan, but brute gave him an extra 1d6 to his 1d6 on any attack he's proficient with(fists) so he still had good damage on punches. 3 standard, martial arts for 4, or flurry for 5. With the sun soul's bolt I can make 5 blasts for his volley, and action surge for another 3 if I want a massive volley. Only 1 less asi than this build, but less saves since you aren't proficient with them all. He's good in a fist fight, lots of blasting if needed, still has decent movement, and his punches are 2d6+7 with maxed strength and rage. Throw a volley of 8 and he can average over 100 damage, with advantage on 8 hits hoping for a critical. Also brutish durability at lvl 7 lets him add a 1d6 to *every* saving throw he makes, and on a death save if it takes the total to 20+ you treat it as a nat 20 and just wake up with 1 health. Basically instant recovery to rush back in with a second wind. Save a rage for after you down, there's the zenkai boost and saiyan rage. Maybe not ideal, but its fun to make different stages of a character.

The weird thing about Gandalf is that he wouldn't be a wizard as far as D&D classes are concerned since his power is a part of himself rather than learned. I'd say he'd be an Aasimar Divine Soul Sorcerer with a Lawful affinity (He's actually more of a full blown Celestial rather than Aasimar but that's not a playable race so we use what we got). I'd say give him a bunch of radiant spells and some utility spells like Detect Magic

The weird thing about Gandalf mechanically is he translates closest to a dex fighter. When it comes to how he is portrayed in the movies he is wielding a sword with a few wizard levels to use a spell storing staff for Daylight. Now that Artificer is a thing Battlesmith would be up his alley so he could use int score for the sword & have the staff as a class feature.

He also repelled the Nazgul attacking Faramir's retreating army using a ray of what is essentially Turn Undead in both the book and film

I made a monk once that basically became a dbz character without the saiyan forms. He was a monk of the mantis originally which sacrifices bonus feats for sneak attack, and some stunning fist stuff. I played this character for 4 years so eventually we got to our epic level party, mid-game I started to invest in the dimensional dervish feat tree. So with this feat it uses the dimensional step ki power which acts like a shorter dimensional door spell. It allows you to move twice your speed in 5 foot increments, with later feats it allows you to activate this during combat so I could literally do the dbz blinks they do when they are moving so fast that non saiyan can’t even see them. Also the final feat in the tree allowed any creature I’ve attacked to be considered flanked because they didn’t know where I was coming from. It was a really fun game and the build put out mad damage. Late game I would have to roll like 50d6 a round with my flurry+ sneak attack. Then add my bonuses 6 times which was close to 200 damage alone.

If I went with your recommended tweak of replacing the Burning Hands Sun Soul ability with a 4 ki Fly, I'd probably go with a wildhunt shifter rather than an aasimar. I think the "no advantage against me anymore" thing works well with the Saiyan idea, and pairs scarily with Reckless Attack.

Great video! Additional thought. If you roll for stats and get them good enough you might take 17th level Monk rather than Barbarian 4, if you don’t need the extra stats you can get super Saiyan 2.

I did this (almost) exact build, only I used a wildhunt shifter, and gave myself advantage on every attack. I rolled for this character, and I rolled 2 18's, so it was a lot more effective than this build would suggest however DON'T ACCOUNT FOR ROLLS THAT GOOD. I only did this build as an attempt to see if it could be done, but it was insanely fun. It's honestly my favorite character and I have a Gestalt campaign coming up, so I'm reviving my Z fignter.

Hey Tulok have you heard of the Vagrant book trilogy? It's a sci-fantasy book based around a mute carrying a legendary sword (and a child, but don't worry about that) to a Shining City so it can be properly used or stored away so the forces of evil can't use it. Sounds interesting for a Hexblade, especially given the sword has a will of its own.

TBH if you *really* want to get the monkey form you can probably be a shifter instead of an aasimar. I'd go for swiftstride because you would also automatically get acrobatics, which means you don't have to swap out skills from your background.

The lower AC makes sense because he he makes decisions out of anger that end up causing him to get injured. He get's blinded by pride. Recklessness is just a part of who he is.

I JUST finished making a build of Vegeta and actually googled to see a "popular character dnd build" for goku to see what race they'd gone with and how mine stacked up. Imagine my amusement when the top result wasn't even for goku, but for Mr. Prince himself! I like your build a lot. It's very similar class-wise, and probably better than mine. And I didn't even think to use Aasimar for the race. I was going for an earlier version of Vegeta and went with the Beasthide Shifter for that Giant Ape goodness. In that vein, instead of Zealot, I went with the newer I also went with the Path of the Beast, though I only went to level 3. That way I could get Sun Soul to 17 to get the golden aura. I think yours is better. And now I want to go and see what other characters you've done, because I've also built, a Samus Aran, a Mega Man, and a Link, which I see you've done, but probably not anything like how I did him. I made him a swarmkeeper ranger so he can attack with swarms of cuccos.

This entire build fits really well honestly, even the cons (well, other than the AC.) Timeless Body? Saiyans stay in their prime till sometime around 80. weakness to speedy opponents? Vegeta vs pretty much anyone quicker than him is a tough win. No AoE power? To be fair, his one useful AoE is Big Bang Attack...
