Baymax ia an interesting example of a Robot character who just follows his programming. No eccentricities, no growth, and every time he says something that sounds profound it turns out he's being very literal. And yet he's so darn lovable.
@thehonoredcur56322 жыл бұрын
I think that's part of why he works. He is a very straightforward character, and then factor in he's programmed to be supportive and helpful makes him and his straightforwardness endearing.
@shannon40612 жыл бұрын
The lovability comes from the fact that Tadashi was the one that programmed him. Baymax’s actions represent an echo of Tadashi and what Tadashi wanted. He was able to leave something behind that would be there for his brother when he couldn’t and that represented all of what he valued most in life. Baymax is the purest representation of everything good in Tadashi. Edit: Baymax is Tadashi’s dying wish for his brother.

During a Curse of Strahd campaign I was a Warforged Life Domain Cleric with a couple of levels in fighter. For a “caring healer”, a Ranger could use every spell slot before a long rest completes on Goodberries, and then flavor it as them packing lunches for the party for the day. That spell is absolutely busted for out of combat healing (especially with a one-level dip into Life Domain Cleric).
@dudesayswhat10112 жыл бұрын
this is the cutest shit ive ever heard. as a note i dont think RAW/RAI you can stack multiple instances of the same spell. ie 2 casts of goodberry still yields 10 total berries, not 20. the design intent stopping things like contingency stacking, or aid stacking for infinite HP. however i dont see why a DM wouldnt allow for goodberry stacking as long as theres a conversation about it!

Its funny, but I think in the Big Hero 6 The series, (Think thats what the show was called) Baymax was given a sword and an overdrive mode (Can't remember if the sword was ONLY during overdrive or not) so him being a smiting paladin IS a thing Baymax can do if you consider the show

The fun part about Enlarge/Reduce is not in the spell info but the DMG. On page 278 you find info on Large weapons. The deal DOUBLE the Weapon Die. So this (as per RAW) would stack with E/R's 1d4 bonus.

4:09 Not necessarily, funnily enough, Baymax in Big Hero 6: The Series has a super form where his wings turn into a big greatsword, and if that doesn't scream paladin I don't know what does. Baymax also gets physically larger when he uses this form, so I guess that's also enlarge/reduce.

As an example, I'm currently in a Star Wars campaign using Mage Hand Press's "Dark Matter" setting for 5E. We started at level 8, and my girlfriend and I, independently from one another, both built Jedi by being Variant Humans with the Telekinetic feat, Acolyte background, and 4 levels in Kensei monk, then I'm going the rest of the way as Bladesinger wizard while she's going War cleric. Before settling on Bladesinger I had originally considered Sword bard. Neither of us even bothered with Psi Warrior or Soulknife. Another option is starting with 3 levels in Artificer for Battle Smith's Battle Ready so you can use Intelligence for attack rolls, then going the rest of the way as a Bladesinger for a SAD build kind of like a spellcaster version of the Hexblade Paladin. As a bonus, you have a Droid companion as your Steel Defender.

Qui-Gon Jinn has my vote! And got a suggestion, a Stranger Things suggestion... Jason Carver: Variant Human with the Athlete background, 13th level Fighter Banneret and 7th level Paladin Oath of Glory. Get the Inspiring Leader feat to be extra team captain, and if you successfully max out your charisma and make sure you’re proficient with Persuasion skill, the Banneret feature Royal Envoy will get you at least a +16 to any Persuasion roll! Add to that Aura of Alacrity, Blessed Warrior fighting style to grant you some handy cantrips like Guidance and Resistance, and the Banneret Rallying Cry, you can lead a mob like nobody’s business. The Athlete feat on top of being and Athlete, and the Peerless Athlete Channel Divinity, will likewise ensure you lead your team to state championships! Buuut mostly you should stick to being the exceptionally durable, if punchable, face of your party.

On the subject of Disney characters, it might be fun to see you build Dave and his family from Dave the Barbarian. I've often wondered what kind of Barbarian Dave could be; also, a Barbarian with Charisma as, their dump stat and have average or above average Int is kind of amusing to see; Daves's own sisters called him a dork to a villain, let that sink for a moment; Uncle Oswidge would probably be a Wild Magic Sorcerer; he flubs more than he gets them right; Figuring what Fang and Candy would be is a bit harder. Also, Fang would probably cap out at level 5 or 6.

Okay, pre-vid prediction: warforged life cleric/valor bard/champion fighter with unarmed fighting style. It might seem MAD at first, but you only need 1 level of cleric to get the life benefit, and that only requires 13 WIS. From there, 12 levels of valor bard gets you magic secrets for Flight, as well as plenty of bard-accessible healing spells, and 7 levels of champion gets you the remaining ABIs to cap off CHA and STR. This is my most detailed prediction, and I'm willing to bet my most wrong.

Baymax is here to help so many people, and kick the bad guys, all in a easy to save and portable inflatable case, only full of selflessness, caring, and extremely devote medic morals, he might now also keep people from harm as a hero, but when you are in the work line to keep everyone healthy the talent of flight certainly make you a better care provider.

This build just cries out to be part 1 of a 2 part build since half of Baymax's power comes from the suit anyways. Baymax's innate strength really doesn't need to be any stronger than what is needed to carry a human up a flight of stairs. With 14 levels of artificer, Hero can provide Baymax with a belt of hill giant strength and more importantly, propulsion armor, now Baymax's fists are weapons that he can smite with and can blast them at range and return them.

I would also have picked Locate Creature for the scanner instead of Stoneskin, more flavorful if you ask me. But again, those are minor nitpicks. EDIT: corrected a grammar mistake.

The problem with Baymax's stat build is that there is an incongruity with Baymax's character and the way stats work in D&D. Baymax is far from stupid - he knows a lot about biology and can conduct research very quickly and that tends towards INT, meanwhile being a highly-literal robot with little capacity to interpret sarcasm and single-minded obsession with his tasks to the detriment of his environmental awareness suggests low WIS. Problem is, Medicine is his key skill, and in 5e that's a WIS skill not an INT one.

How to Build: The Spy from Team Fortress 2, be sure to leave a like and comment for better updates the next time you play. The Spy, Tuxedo Terrorist, the character people love to play as and hate to be killed by, time to convert this french hit man into dnd. intro: Secret Agent Man To build the Spy we gotta go over the Goals for this Build: 1. Master of Disguise: Slip behind enemy lines disguised as a fellow baddy, it's one thing to look like an orc, you also have to act like one. 2. Cloak and Dagger: To avoid more perceptive opponents, bust out the invisibility to slip past sentries and grab that intelligence, not that you need it. 3. Sap and Blast: You have tools to dismantle traps and shoot unsuspecting mooks. Race: Varient Human for a more game accurate Spy, but we'll go Changeling to make Disquises and make things easier for ourselves. Classes: Artificer and Rogue would be a pretty good combo, but if we put bard in the mix for that frenchman asthetic. Stats: Char: Your a smooth operator that can play the role of brain dead mercenaries. Intel: Your a bit more tactical and perceptive than your cohorts, plus it takes a smart guy to use your gear. Dex: Your reflexes are as sharp and deadly as your butterfly knife; make the kill and get out fast. Like you son. Wis: Your a bit savy when it counts, but you don't have the best track record when it comes to wise decision making. Con: Despite your preference, a suit and tie are not practical for battle. Strenght: If you cared about strength you should have rolled for heavy.
