TULUM Mexico 2020 (How to travel on a BUDGET)
In this episode, we will take you to the beautiful town of Tulum on the coast of Quintana Roo, Mexico. We will show you how you can visit Tulum on a BUDGET.
Tulum is made up of three main zones - the Tulum ruins (which are currently closed), the Tulum beach strip, and Tulum town. We show you the major differences between the beach strip and town, with an emphasis on the difference in prices.
We attempted to visit one of the Mayan’s most famous archeological zones in Tulum; but unfortunately, they were closed. We had done our own research beforehand and the official website showed that the ruins were open to the public, but the information we had found seems to not have been recently updated.
Tulum has recently become a tourism hotspot for international travelers for its chill-hippie vibes, rustic architecture, and Caribbean beaches.

Hola Shaneeka😊 my experience in Mexico as a foreign female so far has been positive. I would say that Tulum is safe for solo travellers as there are so many other travellers to connect with while there. We would just say to avoid walking the streets alone at night, just as an extra precaution. We do hope you choose to visit Tulum as it is such a beutiful part of Mexico 🇲🇽😊 sending positive vibes all the way from Mexico.

@@ForTheRoadTravels ok good to know. I just saw that actually the beaches are CLOSED. Is this true? I will be staying in town and not at a beach hotel. Can you clarify what's going on? It's truly sad the sea is changed. I stayed Tulum in 1998 and there were about three hotels on the beach.
@ForTheRoadTravels
@ForTheRoadTravels 3 жыл бұрын
@@tordyclark Hi Tordy thank you for your comment. Yes, indeed the Mexican Government is currently operating under an Epidemiologic Risk Assessment (traffic-light system) in order to move towards the “new normal”. Thus, compliance with regulations for the use of public spaces to avoid COVID-19 transmission is enforced through a monitoring system. The traffic-light system is based on four colours. RED, ORANGE, YELLOW and GREEN. in the state of Quintana Roo where Tulum is located, we are currently in Orange that non-essential services o public spaces must be closed. However the state Governor is trying to push the economy promoting tourism, if you are staying in a beach hotel, or beach club you will have granted access to the beach. Nevertheless, we will advise you to check the places you'd like to visit to make sure you will have access to the ocean. Hope this information is helpful for you. Let us know if you have any further question. I will leave the link of the Mexican government you can see the most updated information: embamex.sre.gob.mx/reinounido/index.php/en/view-more/1776-tourism-guidelines-for-international-visitors-upon-their-arrival-in-mexico

@ForTheRoadTravels 3 жыл бұрын
Hola Alex, thank you very much for watching. Based on a quick research if staying in a Airbnb (US$265) + groceries (US$250) if you guys eat fresh produce is pretty affordable and entertainment (US$500) this is based on a tight budget prices can vary due to high/slow season. We would say around US$1,000. Always connecting with the locals and avoiding touristy areas are ways to save more and you can have the real experience of Tulum. Stay tuned for our upcoming uploads. Where do i find the colectivo minivan stop in cancun? Is it at the cancun airport. I want to go to tulum but im still unsure how to get there from cancun without renting a car. And what about the ado bus?
@ForTheRoadTravels
@ForTheRoadTravels 3 жыл бұрын
We would recommend taking the ADO bus at Cancun airport, this will take you to the Cancun City ADO bus stop (this is the cheapest option) From Cancun you can even take the collectivo located just across from the ADO bus stop to get to Playa del Carmen. From Playa, you can get another colectivo under the highway bridge close to Juarez Avenue, it will take you to Tulum. A more comfortable option, a bit more expensive but not ridiculous would be taking the ADO from Cancun City direct to Tulum. In this way, you would avoid the hassle of having to hop on and hop off the colectivos. Thank you very much for watching and let us know if you have any other questions. 😀🇲🇽
