Hello Nick. I enjoy your videos. I bought 2 weeks ago the alpha 3 packing backpack...it s labelled as a travel backpack and has a dedicated shoe compartiment. I think it looks nice but it s in the eyes of the beholder. It even has a dedicated usb port but quite finicky

Compared to the alpha bravo series, the alpha series bags have better functionality in terms of pocket sizing and orientation. The exterior pockets of the alpha brief pack is three dimensional, which means that those pockets would not take away interior space when they are stuffed. The alpha bravo series, on the other hand, has a more streamlined look but those pockets have no dimensions at all and become useless when the main compartment is packed.

Glad you're back! Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the input. Will try to buy a pre-loved one since I'm still curious. Any thoughts on the Detrick backpack? Thanks! Have a good one!🙂

@@jayme1223 I saw that new detrick, it’s definitely a clothes focused pack. Not bad if someone prefers to carry more on their back. I have no need of one but would review it if I could get a sample

I really like this backpack! I really enjoy your videos! I think this backpack is great in every aspect, but there’s one small issue: the pockets at the front, especially the lower one, have openings that are too small. This limits the size of the items you can put inside, and if the opening were just a bit bigger, there would be enough space for larger items. Additionally, it’s harder to see the items inside because the opening is so small. I really hope Tumi’s next-generation product, the Alpha 4, can solve this problem. Based on the update cycle from Alpha 2 to Alpha 3, Alpha 4 should be coming soon, but so far there’s no news, and it seems they’re not planning to release it in 2025. Also, since the pocket layout hasn’t changed in the ten years since Alpha 2, I’m still worried whether the next generation will be willing to make changes... So, I feel conflicted. Right now, the best product is definitely the Alpha X, as it’s the best in its category, but the small pocket openings slightly affect its potential to be the perfect, flawless backpack.

@BioGear thanks. I was thinking of getting as 2 in 1 for office and travel. I am thinking Nomadic now, already have search but it cannot hold multi day clothes. Is Nomadic bigger then Search? Also is Chalk color going to be ok, as no option of black in my country.
@BioGear12 күн бұрын
@@themartian9369 Chalk is great, i sold a friend my black one and replaced it with chalk. Its a more rigid material and holds shape super well. The Nomadic is larger than the Search and the bottom expands, where it doesnt on the Search. If I could only keep one of the two, I'd personally choose Nomadic, its a killer bag.

@@BioGear thanks for the note. Wow you sold black ballistic nylon for chalk color? That gives more confidence to go for chalk.

Good review, but I pass on this bag everytime, I have nomadic but it has had some quality issues. Thinking about getting the the new briggs and riley large cargo backpack. They have upgraded it with more pockets and organization. I may purchase in the next few weeks. I have been upgrading to a new bag every year.

I’ve searched online for a long time but haven’t been able to find any video of the Briggs & Riley Work Large Backpack. I know they’ve increased the size of the water bottle pockets, apparently by about one centimeter. The original pockets were too small, and although they’re still not very big after the increase, it’s at least a slight improvement. I’d like to know the exact size now. Tumi Alpha X does much better with its water bottle pockets. Also, the width of the main compartment in the Briggs & Riley Work Large Backpack has been reduced, likely for aesthetic balance, but it hasn’t increased in practical usability. They’ve added a top-side glasses pocket. Although I’ve already done a lot of research, I’d still love to see more real-life photos and videos. Overall, I feel like the Tumi Alpha X has a more organized and practical design, especially with its water bottle pockets on the sides, but the front pocket opening is too small. The Briggs & Riley Work Large Backpack is great, but I’m unsure about how practical the side water bottle pockets are now.
