Got to run Bridge Creek into the Stehekin River with an all time crew. One section we were all stoked to check out was Tumwater Canyon. We spent Saturday scouting what we could and then fired it up. There's no names for the rapids as far as we know. We named them, Insomnia, Slurpee, Intermission, and Worst Best Option. The last rapid (also hardest) is a must run, at least the bottom. Some groups portage to the last eddy and ferry out; the last couple of years the rapid had a log preventing anyone running it from the top. To our surprise the log was gone and the line was there. Though, the river right eddy, 'penalty box', was where you'd end up if you didn't make it far enough left at the entrance. On Saturday, 3 of us went in the box. There's two options at this point, ferry out of the box and head down stream, or hike back up and run it again. We chose to run it again. I didn't hit record on my second lap after getting pushed into the eddy but threw in the footy from Sunday's lap which didn't go as planned. I went too far left and the rock that was under water the day before kicked me into the wall. Redemption next year.
