Lars was hands down the most warm and nice celebrity ive ever met. He parked his 50 grand Mercedes near the civic center, near the opera house on van ness in SF, probably 16 years ago. And my gf then asked him for a picture. Which he insisted that his friend take it to get us all in it together... I Still have it! It was really cool and not at all how most of those situations go.

Agreed! I met him in winter 2000-2001 at a converted old-time theater venue. I was working and missed the show completely but I arrived just as it was ending. When I got there, he was talking with some people in the crowd & signing autographs up in the balcony area. I asked him if he could sign some stickers for me and I told him how bummed I was to have missed the show... He said how much he thought that sucked and then broke out into a soft vocal "Loki", then laughed and took off on a good note.

Godbless hers and you're hearts!!! This can be beaten!!! My ma has just been told about the same thing and breast cancer. We just lost an uncle to Lymphatic Cancer in December. I think about him all the time. The Dics messed up with his treatment so why he fell. Just hope and believe you can beat this! He did his 1st time! The doc came in and said "well Ron... you have X amount of months/time" He sez "Fu*k you/that... no ines gonna tell me when I go. I go when I'm ready. You could get crushed by a semi on the way home the same way I could pass away in a crash after leaving from here" The KY boy in him was just too stubborn to stop! He beat it! You gotta have the positive out look and believe this isnt it! My old band The Knowing Within has a great song called "Forever Radiant" that the singer wrote about losing his mother. When I feel beat down and I start to dret about the loss!! I rawk that! Its wild because the line he uses in it was a song they played at my uncle's service! We played that with intensity on tour and every show we did! All of us had lost someone in our families that we channeled the energy from. Plus to do him and his mom a service and play it as hard as we could! I'd di a hard Scissor kick in the initial intro! Really get it going. Just keep on going n KNOWING you guys will BEAT THIS!! Hope for the despaired! Was our sing that made it to the radio! You gotta "Hold on to hope!!... and NEVER LET GO!" Shell beat this!! Just hang in there and hold on!!!🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘🥰🥰🥰😇😇💚🖤💚🖤💚🤘🤘🍻🍻

@americanightmare11 ай бұрын
This is the best interview I’ve ever seen with Lars. I agree with EVERYTHING he’s said so far. Hadn’t heard that song God & Guns somehow befoee (I mean he’s got a serious catalog of music along with the enormous collections of some of my other favorite artists. I’m really lucky my favorite bands that got me into punk are still around 30 years later -it’s a constant, a comfort, a foundation of stability somehow amongst the chaos that is otherwise my life but that’s another story) This interview and that song god & guns is making me feel more confident in my parenting choices. I refuse to lie to my son (w/ those same exceptions if this like Santa Claus. I want him to have that magic in his life especially when I’m not pretending everything is safe and good in the world. He should know there is ALOT of danger and sadness and turmoil but there is also love and magic and beauty. It’s a balance. He’s only 2 but ever since he was born I’ve just spoken to him as though he understood. He’s not ‘less than’ or stupid bc he’s little and it angers me when ppl treat him (or any other kids) that way. He gets more than you think and if he misses something , fine we’ll come back to it. He can ask questions. There have been things I didn’t think he got which he then bustard out with a week or two later shocking me. Everything from some obscure color (I taught him chartreuse and teal, etc having grown bored of the basics and told him about primary, secondary, & tertiary colors same with shapes and I never hear circle or square these days it’s all about parallelograms, trapezoids, and octagons. ) point is he understand aa whole lot and I won’t pretend everyone is good and that sure as hell won’t keep him safe. He should know there’s war and famine and be grateful he’s got food and shelter knowing that he could just as easily have been born into that kinda situation and still could get caught up in it one day. I find myself having to justify this kind of thought process constantly to family and friends. Even things like paying attention to HIS needs rather than the clock or some book or whatever but taking cues from him to know when he’s hungry or needs the bathroom or whatever. Treating him like a real person that knows things and has real feelings. It’s a struggle now bc of a messy divorce from an abusive marriage and custody battle with things so twisted around. No matter what, I’ll never back down from teaching my son the right way (or what I believe is the right way anyhow) I refuse to fail him no matter the cost to myself (which is currently high af 😅) This is a lot longer than I meant it to be. Guess I needed to say some things. Point is Lars is right on about all of this. My son LOVES music and we even play real music together. He’s two and knows who rancid and Green Day and Joe strummer are. He knows a few songs and requests them by name even matching the artists. Recently told me ordinary world by Green Day is his favorite song and I was so f’in happy and shocked hearing him tell me that. It’s a lullaby for us I sing to him often. He READS the word ‘city’ himself outta the lyric video😮. I will be sharing God & Guns with him tomorrow. He needs to hear it and KNOW ‘it won’t be alright ‘ (while simultaneously knowing mommy will ALWAYS be there to make things as alright as possible without standing in his way but rather keeping others out of it so he can learn and grow and “go/do it by yourself” as he says. If you w actually read all this, thanks

Saw Rancid at House of Blues like 11 years ago and it was the best show I have ever been to. I've seen tons and tons of punk bands like pennywise, circle jerks, germs, bad religion, social distortion, the vandals, distillers, the unseen and many more but rancid was the best show they sounded amazing. Lars stole the show and did almost all the talking, Tim said a couple words but that's just Tim 😂. Lars even did a LFB song solo wile the rest of the band rested, and Matt absolutely killed a bass solo it was the best show.

Hearing ur song on the radio the 1st time is INSANE!!!!! 101.1 WJRR I'd been listening to like a year before I discovered RANCID! to hear my band, our name... they names each of our names on the radio! Announced our show with Alesana, our ep release show, our tour and all of that!!! My mind was blown!🤯 It was like 9-10 feet (while I was icing cinnamon rolls) from where if met my singer (I was training him for baking) at the Panera bread of worked at for like years!!! To hear that and plus it's my fave song by our band!!! You FOREVER remember the time you 1st heard it!!! It makes all the years of playing in ur room, on the couch, in a other room cause "stop!!!! I'm trying to watch TV!" And because I went in the other room and kept going! Was good enough to make it! See places I'd neve had been ur meet people and play with bands that my family would DREAM OF!!!

I met Lars briefly in Austin about 11 or 12 years ago (I think) and he was a really nice guy. I didn’t ask for an autograph or anything bc actually, at the time, I didn’t know who he was. I had heard Rancid before, but never really got in to them until after I met him and checked out their lyrics. The one thing I remember about him is that he is one of the most tattooed people I’ve ever met. I’ve met very few that have or had as many as he does…and I’ve hung out with heavily tattooed people since I was a young teen (well before tattoos were so mainstream and the majority of people had at least one). Anyways, I’m happy to see he is doing well.
