Tuna Tartare with Avocado

This was fabulous...even for beginners like me. Followed the recipe fairly close, plated on a frosted red glass plate with black rice crackers, 2 Notakia lotus shaped ceramic Bowls filled with avocado and tuna (separately). The family inner was enhanced so much with this beautiful, tasty dish!

Right! This is one of my favorite appetizers. I hate ordering it out because so many people screw it up.

Nice but 1- you should have gently removed the tough sinew for more even coloring; 2- you should have gently toasted the sesame seeds; 3- you should mix your sauce and oil BEFORE adding the chopped tuna (easier to adjust seasoning). This is more of a sloppy cowboy version than a tidy Japanese version.

Bobby flay does his with no avocado, adds capers, hard boiled egg yolk and white separated and spread in a ring around the tuna wife hates capers and loves avocado ur recipe FTW! I went light on the cilantro and thought about fresh parsley.
